MONTREAL – Quebec’s auto insurance protection agency has been ordered to pay $5,000 to a Quebec man so that he can grow and smoke marijuana in his home.

cat among the pigeons?, Im wondering if this is gonna open the gates for more claims, however Quebec is a law unto themselves

Status: offline 		It's easy for someone without chronic pain to dismiss it casually, but when one lives with it, year and year out, things are a lot less clear.  I have such severe neuropathy in my legs that I had to give up traveling to give lectures.  I was able to get a Vermont card to possess marijuana; unfortunately, THC doesn't work for me so I have to continue using Percoset, but for those for which it works, THC is a wonder drug.

Status: offline 		Nope, the $5K is the upfront cost.  They're also required to pay for nutrients, electricity, and other ongoing costs.

I don't see why they should pay for him to grow. Can't they just pay for him to buy from someone else?

His spine is wrecked-  he cant even bend over to water the plants.

Maybe that's why they went hydroponic.  In a hydroponic system, the water is pumped to the plants.  But it still involves a lot of physical labor.  I suspect he has a roommate or partner to do the physical labor.
