I'm comfort over fashion anyday, but I do try to be in the ballpark of appropriate.

As far as other people, I admire individuality and not following the crowd in other people's choice of fashion, but if it's a family-type place, I don't like seeing excessive flesh exposure whether the wearer is f** or thin. And, I think it's appropriate to respect the occasion and situation. Like, if it's a somber funeral and the family is in black, then the hot pink and lime green should stay at home. Feel free to wear it at my funeral, though. :)

People can do as they please...for the most part. There are some common guidelines and appropriate dress is one of them. If you don't have the common sense to dress according to the expected dress code then don't go there.
Have some respect for the other people at that establishment.

I think "oh that's cute,"or Oh My, attention seeking much?!  I thing it's fine to be oneself wherever.  However, I do put a small premium on proper behavior/appearance, when in public but I don't impose that on anyone other than myself, close family members.    M

I have always dressed for the occassion...HOWEVER, I used to wear a permanant collar...it was impossible to mistake if for anything other than what it was.

As for others...I don't pass judgement on how others are dressed, no matter where we may be dining.
