Status: offline 		One would almost think that he quite likes having the entertainer label to hide behind whenever somebody tries to hold him accountable for any of the shite he spouts, but doesn't see any incongruity with doing that while expecting to be taken seriously in his role as an unelected spokesman for the GOP at the same time.

Status: offline 		Exactly. Many "leaders" among the GOP are groveling to this man. How can anyone with any intelligence see him as a mere "entertainer"? He commands a power that many within Congress would love to possess. And, Im sure, if his programs didnt pay him 50 million a year, he would be running for office.

That seems to be the problem with the Republican Party these days.

There is complete confusion about where politics ends and entertainment begins.

We have Rush being hailed as a leading figure in the party (and if you don't remember that just let me know and I'll be happy to pull up the quotes).

We have a former Presidential candidate who has a talk show.

We have a former vice-presidential candidate who cannot decide whether she wants to be a television personality or the next President.

We have a former House Speaker who has become a talking head on FOX but still considers himself Presidential material.

It's easy. They just look at him, look at his job and call him an entertainer. Doesn't matter who listens to him or who takes him seriously. He is still a radio talk show host. Now if he ran for office, like so many other entertainers have done, then he would be a politician. But I doubt that will happen anytime soon, so I am not going to lose sleep over it.
