We joined a few days ago looking for "friends only." I don't think that lasted a full 24 hours. Now we're trying to get into it all nice and easy and we have a potential male dom (not ready to say it's not a fake yet) to show us the ropes. We've already found a local munch and we both love the prospects of what may come. I don't think either of us saw this coming, the nervousness, the excitement. It's definitely not your everyday experience.

Welcome to CM! Sounds as if you have your heads on straight and being cautiously optimistic, good idea! Hope this is a genuine Dom you have found, but if it proves otherwise, don't give up. Attending a local munch is a great start, and it's easier to assess people's veracity in 'meatlife'. Going to a party (once invited - attending munches gets you known and on the invite list), is a great way of observing play and finding people you might connect with, you don't have to play yourself straight off if you don't want to! Just make sure you know the party protocols ahead of time, introduce yourself to the hosts, and they will likely keep an eye out for you and point out the Dungeon Monitors (DMs) etc. Rule #1 at any party is to stand back away from equipment including the backswings of floggers ... and rule #2 is not to disrupt a scene by movement, loud talk, laughter or screams of sympathy! And give players a bit of space after, even if you are dying to ask a question, wait till they are all packed up and moving away ... most parties have a supper area, accost them there! Call that rule #3 LOL ... and with those 3, that will get you through most parties!

All the best

We had a little bit of a freak out yesterday and deleted our profile. Everything got really weird really fast and that was it. The 2 day grace period is a stroke of genius. We're back on looking for friends only, because when all is said and done, we're still kinkier than anyone we know and meeting others like us is far from a bad thing.

Welcome to CM and the boards.  Attending a local munch might be best for a first time.  It's a relaxed atmosphere, casual dress and attitude.  Freaking out when you're new is nothing to worry about, after all this is all new to you.  Take all the time you need, trust your gut instincts and have fun with each other.

Get to know the boards, read the FAQs and section guidelines, read older and newer posts and ask questions if you can't find what you're looking for.  Most people here are quite willing to answer honest questions, although you'll run into the occasional douchecanoe.  Ignore them, take the advice that makes sense to you, and take things with a grain of salt at times.  Wishing you the  best of luck.
