It seems like 6 months ago i was just preparing for His leave. It seems like 6 months ago was so long ago. It's not. It's finally here... The Man has left for His first stint of Deployment. The total time of Him being gone is 22 months.
I think this first week will be the hardest. Although i am used to Him being gone for 6-8 weeks at a time, this is different. I need to get into my groove and do what i do best. It's only been since Monday, i am actually doing well. I have many projects to keep me busy, i have work and i have some goals to obtain.

For those that have followed my thoughts on this for the last few months, thanks for all your support.

Hope y'all have a great weekend ahead of you....

Well Smilezz....

I was hoping that day wouldn't come for the both of you. I thought that maybe there just might be a chance that we'd see a bigger reduction in force levels and he wouldn't have to go. Anyways.... I want you to know that both you and Thorns will be in my thoughts.

I like rules, i thrive on the structure He has given and leaves me with. When Thorns returns...........His house will be in order.

Once he arrives at his base, will he have Web-cam access?
I had a roommate whose husband was on his 3rd tour of duty in
Iraq and they were able to use the Web-cams once a week or so,
in addition to e-mail and the occasional phone calls.

No, He will not have cam access. He will have limited online time also. He will be working/training 6 days a week, 12 hour days. The time we do get to e-mail or talk on the phone will be priceless.
We had decided before He even left that we were going to start snail mailing each other, i am actually looking forward to that.

While from time to time it may seem that i am venting or god forbid whining a bit <cringes> i know He is doing what He loves to do. I am very proud of this Man, He did not have to go, He volunteered for this Mission, His troops need Him. I am in awe of Him every day of my life, and even more blessed.
