Welcome to CM! Local is a good idea, meatlife is a great way to advance in your knowledge as long as you are careful and keep your brain clear about what is and isn't too risky. Google bdsm and your area and see what comes up, look for a munch that you can go to. A munch is simply a bunch of people meeting usually for some kind of refreshments in a public place and usually wearing ordinary clothes ... with one thing in common, an interest in bdsm! So it's a safe place to start, and I urge you to chat with anyone and everyone, not only because you may not immediately find a lesbian Domme there, but because you can learn from all sides of this lifestyle.
Meanwhile there's lots of good reading available, use the Search feature here (top right corner above the flags) ... I am sure there's a booklist somewhere! I've also found the albany power exchange website to be very useful too. And ask questions, especially if you can't find what you're looking for elsewhere! The general board is good, and you can try the Ask a Mistress forum too, while I'd say most are hetero Dommes, there are some lesbian Dommes there too. Good luck!
