Am looking for a master, for guidance and knowledge on knife Play, something that has peaked my intrest, and just another petal of my rose of knowledge on making myself the best Mistress that I can be.

I'd advise getting out in the local groups.

I would suggest, start with very dull dull dull blades first, butter knives in the freezer and using the non serrated side on the skin first....

Remember that knives cut things and with someone with out experience it can mean that your bleeding from a major artery....

If you want the fear aspect without the real danger of it use a dull knife without letting your sub know. Same pleasure without any explaining to a judge.

This AND finding some workshops/demos to attend.

Try praticing on YOURSELF first...it's amazing how much a person can learn when they are using themselves as the guniea pig.

Never use a dull knife, the leave nasty nasty wounds. If you want the aspect with no cuts use a blunted knife, but frankly I think you shouldn't get into knife play until your knife is an extension of your body and you'd be just as comfortable with it razor sharp.  I recommend playing with knives for at least 6 months before using them for play, psychologically speaking you'll need mastery of the skill to stay safe during sexual play.....

Just my thoughts.....

I find that becoming a pompous ass is one of the most important parts of knife play, that and repeating idiotic platitudes like "dull knives are unsafe" which never fails to get the dumb bitches all hot and bothered.

Dull knives are perfectly safe for knife play, they are "dangerous" when you are trying to cut something and you use force to overcome dullness and then when they DO cut, the force you used to overcome a dull edge causes you to lose control...

Last time I had a sharp knife buried in a beautiful woman's cunt...I really wasn't using all that much force...

Did you mean to come off as a pompous ass in this post as an example or was it just a coincidence?

If you break , I'd start with the safe handling of knives and purchase the wooden or rubber training knives sold in most Martial Arts shopsknife play into "Knife Handling" and then  the "Knife Play" part, I'd start with the safe handling of knives and purchase the wooden or rubber training knives sold in most Martial Arts Shops. An experienced and certified Knife Fighter or martial Arts Instructor who specialisesd in Knife Combat would be able to help you initially in how to handle the knife.

A lot depends in what sort of knife play you want, is it pealing the latex skin of a sub/slaver or are you looking for Play/Struggle Knife Scenes?

Training? How about common sense? Anyone that can't figure this out on their own shouldn't do it.

Were you referring to external, internal, cutting, non-cutting?

Something like this may not require training, but this is Knife Play 101:

Knives can make fun and psychologically powerful sex toys

You do not actually have to cut your partner in order to do knife play. A semi-sharp or pointed knife edge drawn over skin, not hard enough to break the skin, is an intense and erotically charged sensation--especially if it is combined with a blindfold. Draw the knife very slowly over your partner's body for an emotionally intense effect.

If the knife is kept in a freezer before you use it, it can actually feel much sharper than it is; a blindfolded submissive may believe that you are actually cutting with the knife, when in fact you are not. The back, chest, thighs, and legs are excellent places for knife play.

I see a lot of apples vs oranges in the replies.  I think the OP needs to clarify whether they are talking about mock knife play or cutting play (blood sport).  There is a big difference in the advice . . . like practicing with dull knifes is extremely counter productive for blood sport.  A better tip would be to extend your finger along the blade so it creates a "depth gauge" automatically stopping the blade from cutting deeper than you want.  You can cut someone quickly and spontaneously that way, yet have complete control of how deep.

I disagree.

I enjoy knife play A LOT and my husband and I have a very nice collection of "sharp and pointies."  I figured a lot out on my own and so did he.  Then my best friend, who is even more experienced with knife play than I am, showed me some new techniques.  And then my husband pulled out the chainmail pliers.  My friend and I used them in conjunction with the knives and scalpels for a wicked mind fuck which my buddy would never have thought of on his own.

There's just no substitute for finding someone who can show you how to do new things.  With something like knife play, can also be helpful to have someone there as a spotter the first few times you play.

Some things in this life require a bit more than just 'common sense'.

definitely attend a workshop or try to find someone near you that does it and ask to sit in. we have had a lot of people that have asked to sit in and watch it. it is also a good idea to try it on yourself first so that you can determine how heavy handed you are. i would also advise looking at anatomy diagrams to determine where major arteries are to avoid mistakes. make sure everything is properly sterilized and you trust where the person has been or use adequate protection. snapping on a rubber glove can cause goosebumps and immortal terror to the person that knows why you are doing that. i myself prefer razor blades because they are smoother and easier to control and sterilize. anytime that i try a new instrument, i make test cuts on myself to see how sharp and quick they are before i use them on someone else after purifying them. also make sure that you take cleaning them up as a task for afterwards. it is also a good idea to learn and ask that person about how they scar and if they want scars. for most people, just bleeding is enough.

I have to agree with ResidentSadist, there is a wide range of activities that all fall under the "knife play" umbrella. Everything from a mind fuck to sensation play to decorative cutting & scarification to cutting for pain. Each of those requires different equipment, techniques, safety practices, and types of knives. It is impossible to give advice without knowing what particular activities the OP is planning.
