I am curious, since this collar looks nothing like jewelry to me. If this is worn constantly how do you wear it to work? Do people ever ask what it is? I could not wear something that obviously looked like that in my business.

Well, actually, in real life it is somewhat ambiguous. It might also be a fashion necklace depending on the outfit she's wearing. But more importantly, I don't really care what other people ask. Nor do I care how it may impact her (or my) employability. Generally I don't submit to faceless, nameless strangers. Rather, I would just change the situation so that those things are not a problem anymore.

The other ultimate truth is that people don't care that much about other people's jewelry. Carol and I just aren't that important to everyone else. I think in all the time she wore it actually 24x7x365 exactly ONE person commented on it and even then it was a hesitant, "I like your necklace."

Do most people wear their day collars every single day or just when they are out? Like my Master is thinking about gettingĀ  me one for everyday, one for when we are out, and one for at home. He wants it to not be an obvious collar, but something that doesn't just look like a piece of jewelery. What was the agreement between you and your Master when you were collared?

Don't know about most people. Carol has an eternity collar. For a year and change she wore it constantly. Now it's worn "almost constantly" The agreement when I collared her was "she obeys"

Red....I've worn a steel collar from ring of steel for almost two years now. It never comes off (except for airport security) and I've had only one person in two years make a comment that led me to believe he knew what it was. 99% of people in every day life have no clue at all what it is.

LPslittleclip -> RE: Collared (2/26/2011 4:47:40 PM)

i have 2 one a formal one and the other a everyday one. for everyday it is a 18" 3and 1 silver necklace with a working padlock pendant my formal collar is red leather and has a place for my leash to connect to. as i am a army nurse for sterility reasons as well as safety it must be removable( surgery and MRI)

That's the only comment I've ever gotten on mine (maybe three or four times) and it's clearly a leather dog collar.  It wouldn't even occur to most people that a collar of any type is anything more than a necklace.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Collared (2/26/2011 8:11:56 PM)

people often think others are looking at them more than they really are =p

another place to check -- if you're on fetlife, look up a user called toplions_pantera -- i've seen what she makes in person, and the photos don't ever do her work justice. =p

These are beautiful and without the ring look like jewelery. Looks like he's on his way to China though or there already. Worth the wait I'd say.

Madame4a -> RE: Collared (2/28/2011 9:09:50 AM)

This is my boy's collar.  She wears it 24/7 -- has no other one.. I don't like taking it off and I haven't had to for more than a year and half at this point.  She works at a very large computer consulting type company, and they are fairly conservative.  She usually has the lock inside her shirt.  No one's asked her about it.  I wear the key around my neck.

Kaliko -> RE: Collared (2/28/2011 8:12:22 PM)

I used to wear a collar everyday. It was an ordinary looking necklace. Since some dynamics have changed in our relationship, we both felt the everyday collar was no longer necessary. I do have a house collar which I do wear when I'm with him in the house. It's a leather dog collar.

I wear a stealth collar from ring of steel. No one has ever asked me about it. I did prepare my family before I started wearing it 24/7 by saying the bf and I had made a commitment to each other and were planning on staying together for good. I told them that since I didn't want to get married again we decided on having me wear a necklace instead of a ring, and since the necklace we chose was hard to take off- I wouldn't be taking it off. After seeing it the family pretty much all approved and thought it was cool. No one outside of them seems to think anything of it at all, in fact no one ever seems to notice it. So far, I've not had a single comment.

I find my steel collar much more comfortable and sturdy than a traditional type necklace and in the end that is what floats my boat more than anything else.

The file was too big to post the pic here and I don't know how to reduce it.  Pics are on my profile.

The copper/bronze one was just given to me last weekend. It locks in the back.  It is to be worn when we go out.

The "Daddy's little girl" necklace is worn regularly.

For his S&M play, I have a leather collar with a D ring.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Collared (3/1/2011 4:21:06 AM)

NuevaVida -- that copper one is sooo pretty. ^_^

What do most people's collars look like?

I personally find most collars ugly, clunky, and quite frankly, pretty cheap/cheesy looking.

My preference is something like this... especially because it can be worn anywhere/anytime.

I only take mine off to shower or work out, and that's just because it's silk and could get damaged.

randsboy -> RE: Collared (4/15/2011 4:31:59 PM)

A slaves collar is an outward show of the Master's pride. i have been a slave for bout 13 years and have been 'collard' for 11 of them by the same Master. my collar over time has change as my Master has seen fit. i have 2 that are a strip of chain and a small lock. The one i currently wear 24/7 is of this kind. i have also been given a nice 2 inch leather collar with studs, spikes and a ring for a leash thet is buckled on each evening and removed before i leave the house, unless my Master states otherwise. So in my eyes being collar, unless you are asked for your opinion, is completely the Master's choice and the slave should always feel proud to wear its' Master's collar in public.
