NocturnalStalker -> RE: What was your favorite toy? (3/2/2011 4:53:29 PM)

This topic makes me sad as I realize I have every Dick Tracy figure except for "The Blank."  Last I remember it goes for absurd amounts of money since it was limited.

Various comic-book ones from Batman/Spider Man.  My favourites being Two-Face and Venom respectively.

A few Alien figures with the ever charming Facehugger accessory.  One had water/acid-spitting action and karate chop mechanics.

However my absolute favourite is this super detailed and super bad ass T-1000 that has various attachable metallic limbs and heads from the film.

I had a labyrinth. A labyrinth is a lap sized wooden box with a play table built in. You tilt this table to and fro with two knobs on the outside of the box.  This keeps a small metal ball rolling past/around obstacles in a maze like pattern. If the ball gets out of control it will drop into a hole and you must start all over.  I think there is a computer version now.

Oooooh! I used to love my labyrinth! Would play with that thing all damn day.

i had a queen alien, and a couple of rhino-type ones from some spin off comic thingie
the queen is one of the loveliest things in a movie, EVER. ^_^

that T-1000 toy sounds awesome, too =p

i liked Barbies (i got into... wait for it... American Girl dolls later in my preteens-ish years, but that didn't last long, either), i liked My Little Pony, i even liked/still like LEGOs, and "homemade" toys (the trashbag kites sound awesome)... but i think i'll always be a stuffed animal kind of girl. [:D]

i can remember a stuffed "musical" unicorn from when i was very small that played the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (i think that was it, anywho)... i loved that unicorn, Morgan. :) He was... well, woah! [:-] He was very similar to this fellow (i think his back legs were facing forwards rather than back out behind him, if anything... his coloring might have been different, too, on his mane, hoofs).

i also have a "white" [:D] stuffed bunny i've had since i was about 12/13-ish who's also special to me.

gahhhh, i think we'd have been great play date friends during the kid years. my little pony and legos were some of my favorites, too.
i had a GIANT stuffed unicorn (my mom almost had a battle with a lady in the thrift store who tried to take the unicorn away from her before she got to the check out =p) that i used to cuddle with when i went to sleep (she was like a body pillow, seriously) and i have a singing pegasus that sings ♫♪ "i'm peggy the pegasus, yes that's me. come and fly away with me. among the trees we'll laugh and sing and play so happily." ♪♫  a modern toy but so ridiculously sappy cute. =p
hahahaha -- she also says "i'll spread my wings -- and we'll flyyy awaaay!!"  and neighs.
talking about toys is where little girl lilly kinda goes bananas. =p

i grew up somewhat poor, but in our family we always still wanted to do special things for each other. most of our toys came from the thrift store which never bothered me (i STILL love thrift stores) but sometimes mom or other relatives would find something really neat and save up for it.
i remember the year my grandparents gave us the SNES with mario paint. that is STILL one of my favorite video games of all time. ^_^
(oh and mario's time machine -- it was fun to "visit" all the far off places around the world.)

Are the rhino ones the aliens with those "Devil" horns on their heads?  That one may be my favourite just because of how awesome it looks.  I envy you for having the queen, by the way.  You have no idea how much I wanted that one back in the day, just because of how gigantic it was.

The T-1000 one in case anyone is interested is pretty much this: http://tinyurl.com/4e3vfmr

LillyBoPeep -> RE: What was your favorite toy? (3/3/2011 6:09:39 AM)

that T-1000 is SERIOUSLY an "action figure" -- holy spoots ... o_0
the envy is cycling back to you =p

this is the rhino guy i had -- http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4112/4953061598_a80ee42698_m.jpg
it had a little switch to pop it's head out, so you could bash down lego walls =p snazzy

NocturnalStalker -> RE: What was your favorite toy? (3/3/2011 6:18:12 AM)

I'll let you borrow my T-1000 if I can borrow your Aliens? =D

LillyBoPeep -> RE: What was your favorite toy? (3/3/2011 6:35:32 AM)

alas, i do not have them anymore =( i regret that every day. hahaha

pyroaquatic -> RE: What was your favorite toy? (3/3/2011 6:52:39 AM)

Ah toys...

My first memory involved playing with the reflection a spoon... so mirrors became somewhat of an interesting plaything for me.

Then there was my beloved stuffed frog. Which was destroyed in an accident and replaced by froggy who watches me (yes I still have him). A single constant in my life that I could rely on.

Other than that, lego building blocks... a rubix snake as they are now known as, and string. Yes string.

I was easily amused for hours.

Although books are not toys I was consumed by them after I could read.

I plan on giving my analogue frog to my children once they are old enough to appreciate it. Maybe, if I ever have children.

Fine...give me the unicorn and we'll call it a day.

LDVixen -> RE: What was your favorite toy? (3/4/2011 9:00:58 AM)

Two wooden sawhorses my grandpa had in the backyard. My sister and I rode them on many journeys. Grandpa wouldn't put saddles on them for us, so we rode them bareback with pieces of rope we used for reins.

Video-games are for nerds.  You guys are nerds.

Iskander -> RE: What was your favorite toy? (3/5/2011 12:50:07 AM)

Aside from my c64.. (yes ok so I'm a nerd)
I'd have to say my board game of reversi..
One day I was playing it with a daughter of mums friends, she got bored, started throwing the chits at me, i threw them back and one landed in her top, she dared me to retrieve it, I did, blushed and got my first kiss...

But of course, there's nothing like lego.. Not the new kind with designed bits that leave nothing to the imagination, the old kind with limited pieces and unlimited potential...

M I..
