im 22 in so cal around the downey bellfower and whitter area. Im looking for a group or events that welcomes newcomers. I was invited to one on yahoo, most people just seemed rude and uneducated.

Use the first topic called Frequently Asked Questions to find a link that will show you all the groups, munches, or events in CA or wherever you need.

Welcome to the forums. You're a bit too far south for Me to recommend any groups that I am a member of personally. Just keep trying different munch groups and don't give up. Some groups are better for new folks than others.

Welcome to CM. When you check for groups, you may want to look for TNG - The Next Generation - for groups tailored to a younger set. Good luck and have fun.
