And you seem to forget, I never went on an illegal work stoppage, shutting down the states school system.

And you seem to forget that you were the beneficiary of collective bargaining.

There is a big difference in being a union member in a share holder owned company and being a union member whose wages and benefits are being for paid by the tax payers. I paid into my own stock ownership plan and my own 401 since the day I started there. Why should a state employee not have to do what I and most other employed people have to do ?

Brain -> RE: Ohio to Limit Public Unions (3/3/2011 7:19:02 PM)

If Walker has the support of the majority he should have an election and get a mandate to make these changes that are so important. He knows he has no majority and cannot win so he doesn't have the guts to call an election and get the mandate.

I think the Republicans are breaking the law ordering policemen to arrest the Senate Democrats in Illinois. It's against the Constitution of the State of Wisconsin to arrest those Senate Democrats. They have no right to arrest them and I don't think the police will obey unlawful order.

Breaking the law will not work out well for them in the end. Outside of liberal Madison, the majority fully support Scott Walker. The bums in the capital are getting tired of banging on drums and sleeping on marble floors.

The union already conceded to Walker on the wages and pensions and benefits. The issue is not the money anymore. The issue is they are trying to bust the union and take away collective-bargaining which is unacceptable. They will never agree to these unreasonable demands and Republicans will continue to decline in popularity in the state of Wisconsin.

Brain, We just had an election last November. Scott Walker is now the governor of Wisconsin because he got more votes than his liberal opponant.

jlf1961 -> RE: Ohio to Limit Public Unions (3/3/2011 8:19:41 PM)

Yeah, but even the FOX news polls show most of the people in Wisconsin disagree with him on the Union issue.

And people say that democrats dont listen to polls.

Maybe there is a little hope for all of us. A liberal judge from Madison, WI, has ordered the state capital building closed. Police and the state patrol are now in the process of throwing the scum out of our beautiful but now trashed state capital.

Sadly, you couldnt even get this right.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Pro-union protesters have vacated the Wisconsin Capitol on the 17th day of round-the-clock demonstrations.

About 50 protesters left the building peacefully after a judge ordered the building closed at night.

The protesters are opposed to legislation that would strip most public employees of most of their collective bargaining rights.

UM...Bill...in the US they can't just call an election like they can here in Canada...their elections are for a set term, and the next election is prescheduled.

Given that you think a US Governor can just call an election like a Canadian Premier, I have my doubts about your knowledge of  the Wisconsin State constitution and what is and is not legal under it.
