Ah, lifestyles of the rich and wacky. Edited because hlen5 pointed out that I had the wrong beating victims!

May I point out that Napoleon was French, and did a bang up job taking over most of Europe until he got greedy and went after Russia.

I had a grand uncle who was a fighter pilot during WWII and was shot down and spent about four months with the French Underground. He told many stories of French bravery. He was absolutely disgusted with the anti-French sentiments after 9-11. But whether they like it or not the French have in modern times gotten a reputation for cowardliness… quite a fall from the days when defeating a French army was an accomplishment worthy of proclaiming a holiday (Cinco de Mayo). I figure if I have to put up with unwarranted European stereotypes of Americans (i.e. we are all fat, gun toting, uneducated, rednecks) then I’m entitled to poke back with our own stereotypes about them (the cheese eating surrender monkeys), despite the fact that I like brie. Incidentally, rumors that I have cousins in France are just that… rumors. [;)]
