On topic- currently rereading 'Twilight Eyes' by Dean Koontz. A trip to the library is long overdue!

I had planned on going to the library today to get more books, I read my 4 in about 2 days......I lubs my libary card!  Unfortunately, I fell asleep at about the same time it opened.  Bummer!  I have started the Merry series too, but my branch of the library is missing a few of the books, so I have to get then shipped over from other branches.  Same with the Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb series.  That tends to slow me down some.

Oh, and not to brag, but I did The stand in 8 hours.......day off, no plans, so I laid on the couch with the book and had a great day!  And it was the unabridged version.  When he first did The Green Mile as serial novels, I read each one in less than 90 minutes.  It seemed to take FOREVER for the next one to come out!

For some reason, I have the strangest urge to read Charlotte's Web and the Winnie the Pooh books......my tastes aren't quite so esoteric as everyone elses.

And the best part is, that both cakes are whatever flavor you want them to be.  I haz a special cookbook that allows such things to happen.

Errrmm, that's still on topic isn't it? [;)]

ETA:  And both cakes are shaped like open books.  I canz does dat, I canz I canz!!

0ldhen -> RE: Wut ya read'n? (3/26/2011 4:31:13 AM)

I had to do a search for this thread but I just about have my current book"Uller the Shyne" finished. I have a passage of it I want to post here.

But first I just wanted to comment that this book is Fuking Awesome! I am in love with the hero, I want to murder the villaness before she completes her dastardly plan, I want to cuddle the children, lust after the women and ride the Dreyki.

All the books I've read in this series were complex rich stories, the worlds are populated with a cast of characters both believable and real, READ THESE BOOKs as soon as you can.

This particular book in the series left me raw....

excerpt from Uller the Shyne;

All of these women enriched his life.They did not make him happy, they added to his happiness. They facilitated his content and that content would bring tears to his eyes when he would watch them together, laughing, talking, and making love. Not the physical sexual act of love but making love work. Uller knew love happened but to maintain love you have to make love. He made love with his touch, made love as he spoke to them, as he lived his day to day life with them. Making love was not sex at all but reaffirming and connecting in all the ways that made their lives together special.
