Lady16Lily -> New Dom, help me out (3/4/2011 7:20:25 PM)

I am starting out as a new dom and I need advice and new clients to show me the ropes. I had thought foot fetish would be fun, but I am open to suggestions. I do charge a fee. Let me know what you think! Thanks everyone!

Welcome to Collarme.
You charge a fee for us to suggest to you how to be a Domme? Wierd.
What exactly has inspired you to "be a dom" as you say. What are you
hoping to learn/gain/experience in this little adventure of yours?

Let you know what we think? You're brave!

You're new, and you need new clients? Do people pay other people for beginning dom positions?

Good luck [&:]

myotherself -> RE: New Dom, help me out (3/5/2011 4:34:51 AM)

I'd tell you, but I'm afraid I charge a fee [:D]

Welcome to cm!

OohAahMrs -> RE: New Dom, help me out (3/5/2011 5:44:05 AM)

Hey, you like the thought of the money eh? You're not doing it for any other reason? Don't worry, there's plenty of suckers out there!

strangedesire -> RE: New Dom, help me out (3/5/2011 5:49:20 AM)

It might be wise to learn the ropes BEFORE you start charging. Failing that, you're going to want to connect with another pro who will help you along. And you'll need to make it worth her while.

Welcome To CM

salemartist -> RE: New Dom, help me out (3/5/2011 3:09:51 PM)

would it be a discount rate because you have no clue what your doing? I mean people pay for talent right? major league baseball pitchers make more money than little leaguers....

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: New Dom, help me out (3/6/2011 10:16:10 PM)

Lady16Lily -> RE: New Dom, help me out (3/9/2011 11:42:59 PM)

who knew people could be so cruel?

Lady16Lily -> RE: New Dom, help me out (3/9/2011 11:48:20 PM)

I have always toyed with the idea and one day I just decided I thought it would be fun. I hope to get a big dose of power control out of it.

kissheels -> RE: New Dom, help me out (3/10/2011 1:10:25 AM)

Welcome to the forums.

People weren't being cruel to you.  What they are telling you is that you're going about this completely backwards.  You want to charge people to teach you to be a pro?  I'll bet you wouldn't be the paying client so somebody who's never given a hair cut before went after your locks.  Oh, sure, just sit in the chair and instruct her while she's chopping away.  Then you can pay her for the privilege of whatever mess she's made out of your head.

Learning topping skills isn't hard, but the word pro really is short for "professional".  That means you should know what you're doing before you decide it's a good way to make some cash.

What LP said and with that welcome to CM and good luck.

Lady16Lily -> RE: New Dom, help me out (3/12/2011 9:05:34 PM)

Look, I've done a few sessions and now realize I started completely the wrong way. Sorry if I really pissed anyone off.

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: New Dom, help me out (3/13/2011 12:14:59 AM)

It wasn't so much a piss off, as reality being different than fantasy.  You can want to do something with no knowledge, but how can the person who comes to you get anything out of it?  Especially if they're paying you for it?  I could say I'm an accountant and offer to do taxes, but dayum at the end of the day, the people whose taxes I'd done wouldn't be a happy lot.

LadyPact -> RE: New Dom, help me out (3/13/2011 3:11:14 AM)

Cupcake, you couldn't piss Me off on a good day.

I'm glad that you had "a few" sessions.  Please go out and explore all of the things that make you happy.

When your "profession" meets the criteria of being a professional, we'll talk.

salemartist -> RE: New Dom, help me out (3/13/2011 7:15:39 AM)

just to be clear I am neither pissed off, pissed on or or intending to be cruel. I am not someone who would seek out a professional Domme so my opinion on skill level vs. cost doesnt really hold much weight. I just assumed that the best of any trade can demand the highest pay, therefore someone with little to no experience would be more of a bargin. But what do I know, I got 10 years experience and never charged a cent...

Not cruel, just realistic.  You want paid sessions in which you learn.

Forget about getting paid right away.  Just go to groups and get in some play sessions.  You should have no end of prospective play partners and likely a mentor or two.  Also, go to demo classes and learn your craft.

Welcome to collarme.
