Washington (CNN) - The Supreme Court has again rejected an appeal from a "birther" proponent questioning the citizenship of President Barack Obama.

The justices Monday turned aside without comment a request for a rehearing of various claims, after dismissing the original appeal in late January.

The long-shot petition by Gregory Hollister had called on Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan to withdraw from considering the constitutional claims, contending a conflict of interest by the president's two high court appointees.

.........

The Obama administration did not file, and the high court did not demand, a formal government response to this latest legal claim from Hollister, who said in his appeal he is a retired U.S. Air Force colonel.

The high court will often insist the Justice Department weigh in with its views on a particular constitutional issue, or when a top government official or agency is being sued, a strong sign the justices would be seriously considering accepting the appeal.

Isnt it time to stop filling up the SC's docket with this nonsense? I mean, honestly, after 70+ cases, isnt enough enough?

Someone who demands to see, touch, and lick Obama's birth certificate before believing he was born here. Basically, they are saying he isnt eligible to be President because he isnt a "natural born citizen"

They're the same as "warmers" "truthers", or in some cases "UFO-ers".
They get a hold of some information and just run with it. Nothing anyone says can disuade them from their beliefs. When proven wrong they simply go in another direction. It becomes an obsession.
I think the medical community has a term for it.

FR

"saying he isnt eligible to be President because he isnt a "natural born citizen""

That could well be true, but the point is that the law requires what it requires and that was obviously provided. And for those of you who think he is THE Manchurian Candidate, let me remind you of the history of the past hundred years or so. If we've been getting true breds up to now, perhaps the Manchurian would be a bit better candidate.

AND MFs that is NOT a shot at Obama. That is a shot at almost all the US Presients in the last century.

T^T

He's no moderate, but he's definitely an independent. He often falls way on the right edge of any given issue, but he's one of the very few people here who seem to evaluate every single issue on a case by case basis, rather than consulting a List of Ideologically Acceptable Positions.
