I used to be INTJ. Lately though I've been testing out INTP.

Is this as a result from a self-imposed behavior modification or do you think it's just your natural development that caused you to change and adapt?

I've thought a while on this one...

If you take the research regarding identical twins into consideration, ones who are adopted out at birth to completely different lifestyles and raising, one must conclude that we are born with our core personality traits.

Add to that your surroundings and life experiences, and you have the baggage that you carry with you on the journey. Some of the baggage is good and you develop it and enjoy it. Some of the baggage is not so good and you either succumb to it or you find ways to overcome it and ditch it along the way.

Nope. But we here, the opinionated regulars at collarme.com, are very fond of coming up with our own little theories on the subject.

I didn't make any deliberate attempt to change, so I have to assume it's natural. Possibly I'm just learning to feel my way through things.

I agree with whoever said that as your personality develops then that is what you turn to. I have a very dominant personaility in life and I had to embrace that my personality in relationships and sex are also dominate. That is when I woke up one day at the age of 40 and said DOMME yes, this is something that I must explore. Here I am!

So my question is... Is it only possible to be a Dom only if you were "born" one, or is it possible to wake up at 40 y/o and realize that you are a Dom and want to learn more about the life and in turn yourself?

I can't find the answer to this anywhere in the OFFICAL HANDBOOK OF HOW TO BE DOMINANT. *smiles* I'd say if you feel you're Dominant and want to learn about it, 40 is as good of an age to do so as 20. Enjoy your journey.

I agree with prior statements. I beleive you are born with Dominate or submissive characteristics that are honed throughout life. As far as this life {notice I didn't say style} however, the characteristics that are more dominate within you are going to come out. I am a dominate by nature..everything I do is dominate so much so I couldn't be submissive even if I wanted to {which I really thought I wanted to try}. Therein lies why I can fit so well into this community and embrace who and what I am. A DOMME mistress.
