DarkNova -> Comfortable Collar for sleeping (3/9/2011 10:40:31 AM)

Hello, I recently made this post in bondage gear section.

"Hello, was looking for somewhere online to purchase a comfy collar for my kitty. I found several places like collarfactory, where you can design your own. Has anyone tried that place and can give me a thumbs up/down? Additionally, does fur lining get to hot during the night? Any other recommendations (sites, collar ideas, subtlety --> public, etc)? This is for her birthday so the price range is pretty wide. What I'm looking for her is a comfortable collar that she can wear without getting irritated by it after 20-30 minutes, to sleep with, and must have an O ring. Currently, I'm putting a leather one with no lining around her neck, but I can see that after a while she is getting itchy. I wish to rectify this problem :)"

I want to get a submissive/slave perspective on this please. What type of collars do you like best for long term wear (IE sleeping), which ones you think are sexiest (I like black leather/steel with an O ring) and which ones do you prefer for being subtle and "stealthy" with?

-Thank you

I can't sleep with anything around my neck. There's a leather one for play time and during the day I wear a necklace that is not tight on me. Plus you need to think about metal allergy if she's getting itchy.

I wear my collar all the time whilst at home, it is a leather unlined black collar with an o ring at the front.  It can be locked at the back if you so wished, i do sleep in this collar and find the problem i have is if i have not got it on i cannot sleep.  The collar was chosen and bought for me by my Master and my sister sub at the Birmingham Bizzarre Bazzaar, unfourtunatly my sister sub died nearly a year ago so the collar is very special to me.  I wish you luck and would thoughly reccomend one of the said collars.

My heavy locked chain collar is on 24/7.  I sleep in it no prob.  The few times it is removed for flying and such, it feels strange.  I have had it on almost continuously for about three years.

You get used to having one on.  I wear two at the moment - one is a soft leather collar that's just a little bit loose.  The other is just a dog tag on a simple jewelry chain (it's my work collar, but it doesn't come off just because I'm not at work).  Both were an adjustment at first, but now I hardly notice that they're on, even at night.  I'm sure when I receive my chain this fall I'll have to adjust all over again.

i wear a necklace very short but not tight looks normal just extremly short it never comes off except for things like having an op, i have a leather dogs collar for play dont always wear it though. I am not a pet just they are cheaper

i have a formal collar for when i am with my Mistress it is leather for the rest of the time i have a silver neclace with a working lock pendant on it. as i am a nurse i have need to be able to remove it for safety and security surgery and MRI rooms ect. as far as being comfortable you can get used to most anything so consideration in your case will be nessasary. eternity collars are very good.

susanhisslave -> RE: Comfortable Collar for sleeping (3/12/2011 5:43:06 AM)

i wear and have worn for nearly two years, two Eternity steel collars, that have been permanently attached by Master! using a rivet instead of the little screw. One is slightly larger than the other, and there is a D&O ring that goes around both of them.

When they were first put on i had a little trouble getting used to their constant presence, including sleeping. Most of this was due to the rings that move from place to place.

But like anything i guess, with time their presence was not noticed anymore. By me or anyone else for the most part. They became no different that rings i wear, except for not being able to remove them. (unless they are cut off, which obviously would only be i some very unusual situation....i.e. hospital stay, or surgery)

So maybe, you just need to "give it time".

You have placed the question as a comfortable collar for sleep. I'm not quite sure as to what you truly mean as my Master has over time required that i keep whatever collat He has provided to remain on for sleeping. All toll Master has given this slave some 5 or so colars. Each a gift as we advance together. The first was a 'training collar'. Very hard to sleep with. He has also given me a couople of diffent leather collars. The last one I was ordered to find and be wearing it upon His return. I had to go to a pet store to find one big enough to fit and to this day it is my sleep and trining collar. The last two have chains with locks. The first being a standard gold lock and the current being a very hansone black and silver one attached to a chock chain. This one never comes off except at airports. SO for sleep i wear this one and the leather dog collar for sleep. SO you sleep in whatever the Master says you are to sleep in. all the other softy collars out ther are for non-slaves.

My dog collar is complete with spies and studs and at the time (3-4 years ago) the cost ws around 50 to 60 dollars. It had to fit and i had to always wear it to sleep. It has a circle for a leash to attach to it, if desired, and must always be pesent day or night for show. and yet after about 11 years of begging i finall recieved my first lock and chain. The second one came when Master had thought H had found Aa second slave so that we had matching collars when we went out. However the 2nd boy requested release. he still has the collar and a few gifts that Master and i had given him to hilp him fit in. In the end he decided he did not wish to change countries or give up his benefits as a cictizen of his current country. and we were not sure about moving there without the promise of a decent job, so we still talk, we just don't use the familiar family terms of a household a slaves and Master.

Hello all,

My collar is not comfortable at all for sleeping. I sleep inspite of it. I am fortunate in that, while I don't fall asleep easily, I can stay asleep inspite of quite a bit of discomfort.

The sexiest collar is the one my Mistress wants me to wear. As for "Stealthy," I'd like to find a simple chain with a tag inscribed, "Mike is the thrall of (WITHHELD)."

I like her collar, I like what it represents to her. I like what it represents to me; and, I am thrilled that I have been selected by her to wear it.

I fear that the answer to your situation might require trial and error.

My 24/7 collar is from Wyred Slave. It is I think a 7mm wraith band. I LOVE it! It was a surprise for me and it has only come off for X-rays at the chiro. Other than that I sleep and shower in it and it has never caused a problem. The locking mechanism  isn't like others that I have worn that hurt the back of the neck when sleeping.

They have removable D/O rings as well as tag mounts. Hope this helps. You can check out my profile if you'd like to see a pic of mine on me.

Carol has no issues sleeping with her eternity collar. It's just a simple steel hoop. It doesn't get wet when she has night sweats. It doesn't tarnish. And it doesn't get in the way. I agree with you that leather is probably not a good choice unless it's really cold at night where you live.

Carol has, in general, gotten used to the damndest things just as MaxsGirl pointed out. I mean seriously... the collar isn't NEARLY as hard to sleep in as the chain or leash attached to it. I was always stunned back when I used to leave the leash on during night that she didn't tie herself up in a knot with it.
