ORIGINAL: hisdevin Yes, yes, another collar problem. My hair gets stuck in the buckle. More information below, but I want to explain where we are in terms of collars and why I'm not going to be changing styles right away. I need advice on the hair, not the collar. My master and I are finally returning to the lifestyle after a break of a couple of years. We have a child, and as she gets older and more aware, we've had to be more secretive about what is going on between us. I know that not all children notice these things. Ours does. So this isn't a matter of us being unnecessarily worried like some lifestyle couples are. She notices everything. Moreover, about two years ago, Master lost his job and we were going through a lot of strain generally. The stress and consuming depression of the time period made neither of us particularly interested in pursuing one another at all and lifestyle is tough to maintain even during the best of times. Things have returned to normal, and I approached him asking whether or not we both still wanted this. We do. But we're taking our time. I'm telling you all of this to explain why changing the collar isn't an option at the moment. In our relationship, I've always begged the collar, including "upgrades." In this case, a change in collar would be a major upgrade. Long story, the steel collar that I had early on is gone (stolen during a period when I couldn't wear it publicly). What I wear now is a simple, unlined dog collar. It is comfortable enough other than the face that it isn't particularly discrete (but that's what my wedding ring is for; public collar). If, and when, we both feel that we are moving forward with our lifestyle again and are headed in the right direction concerning my submission (since I am not naturally submissive), then I will beg another metal collar of some sort, probably an Eternity collar. So there's the history here. The problem is that my long hair gets caught in the buckle of the collar. It pulls and breaks the hair. I am a "long hair person," meaning that I baby my hair. I do everything in my power not to break it. I don't brush it and I rarely comb it (finger combing only). I don't shampoo my hair or blow dry it. I don't even use expensive conditioners because they contain damaging agents. It might sound funny, but I baby my hair with cheap hair care! I just had to do a major chop so that I could get a straight hemline. I went from nearly BCL (butt crack length lol) to just past BSL (bra strap length) but I have my straight hem. I don't want to lose that hem! It cost me a lot to get it :( Any suggestions for what I can do with my hair to stop it getting caught in the buckle? Or is there a way to cover the buckle so that it's not a problem? I have to take the collar off in the shower and bath, but otherwise wear it all the time. I would cover my hair, by the way, except that Master prefers to see it ;) Get a scrunchy for it. They are not just for ponytails!! it will fit well, hold to the buckle and can be removed easily! When my Owner has me put on the play collar for parties (instead of the rolled tungsten) I use em to spare my hair. My sister showed me the trick, her hair is THICK!
