One problem with the hypothesis : :"When you have a low tide, there's less water, so the pressure on the seafloor is smaller." That is untrue. The decrease in pressure is caused by the change in effective gravity, the water just moves to equalize, or accomodate that presssure. Therefore the net effect is the same. Lower elevations with less water on top are an exception, but that is very rare, because when the land is lower you get more water. It literally gushes in. (ask the Dutch) They're using flawed science to support a belief, but that's not uncommon. T^T
