He always has been, and always will be, a douchebag. After seeing his antics here in Georgia, the fact he is even considering a run for the White House cracks me up....then I think of the fact that so many seem to buy his BS and then I am a bit afraid.

Love of country my ass, he loves one thing, the thing he sees in the mirror.

By George you've got it !

We turn the whole country into a combination whorehouse/casino/crackhouse/midnight oil mall and restaurant extrordinaire.

<that "insane" may be right because I am not kidding. Look at how well countries, in fact any area, does that attracts tourists and vacationers. Unless you want to fire up the steel mills again.

It seems to me so many ppl here are missing the point.

No one here is suggesting that Gingrich behaved properly towards the women in his life. His excuses are about why he made the wrong choices under whatever pressures he claims he felt. By his own account, he repeatedly makes bad decisions under pressure.

Surely a track record of repeatedly making the wrong (and happily for Gingrich, self-serving) choices under 'pressure' automatically eliminates him from consideration as Prez. The whole point of the electoral process is to select a candidate who will make correct choices under the enormous pressures of the Presidency.

If he ruthlessly and cynically wounds those nearest and closest to him what will he do those not so near or close? Whatever his politics, this person's loathsome record of self serving, destructive and morally bankrupt decisions and behaviours eliminate him from any consideration for high office.

Excellent point! And one which had not occurred to me. Every blue moon or so I run across a post worthy of quoting elsewhere (I always give attribution). This is one of those.

Exactly...much like McCain's ill-fated decision, made under the unrelenting pressure of a Presidential campaign,to offer Palin the vice-presidency slot exhibited his unfitness for office.
