Brain -> Notorious GOP Lobbying Firm Is First Presidential Debate Host (3/11/2011 1:43:55 AM)

It can’t get any more sleazy for Republicans. The more things change the more things stay the same.

That sounds like just the right kind of group to host the first presidential debate, doesn't it?

Sounds more like a typical Brain post.

Century Strategies, the lobbying firm that actually hosted the debate in question, is run by a heavyweight champ of GOP seaze, Ralph Reed. The company specialized in ginning up evangelical support for Jack Abramoff's worst clients, including the forced prostitution, forced abortion sweatshops in the Mariana Islands.

Kirata: "Sounds more like a typical Brain post."

I didn't miss his troll threads at all when he was gone. IMO, threads like this are just another data point on the graph of the devolutionary death spiral of P&R.

It is? Funny the Reed front group thinks it went well:

RCP seems to think its real as well

So does Reuters:

There really are a lot of news story for something that didn't happen:

Let them have their fun, play a few games, throw some 'economic recovery' around maybe even create a few p/t, temp jobs. Then they will go home and realize...that's all it was. I would have thought it news if they DIDN'T use a repub lobbyist to put it on.

It is? Funny the Reed front group thinks it went well:

That dog and pony show in Iowa was simply a "forum" for prospective candidates to try out their act, more to showcase its host than anything else. It was not a "debate," and Mitt Romney, Mitch Daniels, and Haley Barbour didn’t even bother to show up.

"The dog and pony show "

I have to ask if you made that up yourself. I know I've used it and a search would reveal that, but I don't think I made it up. It may be something I heard decades ago and it just got regurgitated to the top of my mind "somehow".

But it does speak the point quite well doesn't it ? It's ALL for show. It IS a show. And the show must go on.

Ummm...Bill....its the 1st "Republican Presidential Candidate" debate. Why wouldn't a right wing organization sponsor it?

I did indeed make it up, yes... back in the late 19th century, in previous life. [:D]
