"Age Ninety two, old enough perhaps to remember when Eugenics was acceptable in America, perhaps it is true, leopards don't change their spots, once a bigot, always a bigot."

Hate me.

I don't care about race now, there are assets to society and then there are the useless. I don't know about you but there are only so many useless we can afford to support. This doesn't mean the disabled, this means those who never learn, and never will. Genertions of taxpayer funded biomass, who won't be productive for the simple reason that they just don't have to.

Now mind you, eugenics should not be accomplished by authoritarin means, the PEOPLE should decide not to have kids if they figure they can't give them some kind of decent future. And for the record, I myself practiced eugenics. I decided not to reproduce because in my prime time I was not confident in my ability to offer a decent future.

People have the choice. People can adopt a responsible attitude now and stop the overpopulation growth and invest in the viable of our REAL future, or nature herself will practice not eugenics, but euthenasia via famine, pestulence and overcrowding, causing civil unrest among other things like clammoring for the "shrinking" world's resources.

I would never support government intervention in this, but it is your choice. Also I had a good friend who did something similar, he had an incurable genetically transmitted disease, and decided never to have children.

PEOPLE have to make the choice. It is too late to make choice for the present, those choices were made in the past. We can only make decisions for the future. What kind of world do you want ?

And if we're so morally pure, why do they want a blood test for a marriage license ?

I dunno.   Seems to me that the Bushes & Quayles are 2 pretty compelling arguments for eugenics.

Or at least against nepotism.

Gee it was a Republican that said this stuff, and you are screaming about propaganda? You know there was another Right Wing Organization that screamed for eugenics and dismantling of labor unions, can you guess who it was?

You have mistaken eugenics for euthenasia. Euthenasia is for the old who really are ready to die. He might be or not. Eugenics refers to selective breeding, which in this sexually free society we call <insert noun here> would have to amount to sterilization because you will not stop people from fucking.

Most living now don't give a fuck about the future, once they are dead and buried, what they thought is gone with them, so they live their lives as best they can often devoid of ideals.

But I do agree some aspects of eugenics might be beneficial to future societies, but we are not the future societies, so we cannot say.

Here I would like to draw your attention to the disabled, especially the most disabled, those with a brain that functions as much as to sustain life, despite the fact that the body cannot respond, one might ask, what use to society are they. My simple answer to that, is what use are we, if we cannot connect with those that on ordinary levels are noncommunicable. I refuse to accept the majorly disabled are of no use to society, as lets face it, a life sitting doing what appears to us as not a great deal, who knows the strength and ability of that mind and where it wanders. Maybe those that are the most disabled are the organic computers we seek .

As to those that think those that do not try are the feckless that believe life as it is everything will come to them, the lowest common denominator in your society, could it even be societal approach is wrong, for again I fail to accept there are wasters in humanity, everyone was designed for something, but maybe it is us, we lack the ability to see beyond the life we know.

"Most living now don't give a fuck about the future, once they are dead and buried, what they thought is gone with them, so they live their lives as best they can often devoid of ideals. "

That attitude has been and is rightly called pharisic. There is nothing after life, this is all you get, so get it now. But then there are familial obligations, those set deeper than they ever could be in stone. To make better the advantaage for one's offspring.

It is right there for everyone to see. When people have no morals, they are not really people. those who sell their soul, do it on Earth. They become animals, not human. Soulless ceatures bent on their own will and nothing else. And that is sometimes a twisted will, which is not in concert with the best intersests of mankind. But that doesn't matter. Nothing does except their goal. Their will.

And they practice eugenics, don't kid yourself. In your best day, try to fuck someone in the royal family, or the family of their Masters. You ain't getting shit. You are sewer scum to them, and they would just as soon fuck a kangaroo.

But that's not eugenics, it's it's it's well what is it ? It's only eugenuics if we do it, then it is bad. But it is good for those who rule the world.

Fuck them.

There are very few states that still require that, and Ohio has not required it for at least twenty years that I know of, maybe longer.

Open your eyes.

No.  Eugenics means favoring those that are GENETICALLY allegedly superior.  The so-called elite may have good genes, but they got to where they are from other means.

They interbreed with their own kin.

Even the political class sticks with their own.  Consider how Chelsea Clinton Married-  she married an "investment banker".

///
and Tazz-  they ALL do support varying degrees of Eugenics.

What were people thinking?

They were thinking, "stop Obama at any cost," Tazzy. That had some seriously long coattails in the state houses, especially when a candidate could be sold as a war hero of the greatest generation.

Rich, that might explain the general, but how did the GOP get this flake elected in the primary?  I assume that this is a district in which the Democratic challenger is window dressing to show that we still have a two party system, and then overwhelmingly elects the Republican.  In such cases, the dominant party really has a responsibility to elect someone sane.

I agree up to a degree.

I was watching episodes from Andromeda Ascendant first season last night. One of the intro's stated "How a society treats its elderly, prisoners and pets is a reflection of their level of civilization", or something like that.

One of my friends has spent just about her entire life in a wheelchair due to an inherited muscle disease. Yet despite her severe disabilities she leads a productive life. Our society and technology enables her to be this productive.

On the other hand there are economics and the well-being of the population to consider. Hunger used to have a huge impact on societies. Hereabouts one thousand or more years ago, two brothers were about to kill their useless father in the woods - as he had killed his own father for the same reason - when a noble lady came upon the scene and gave them her valuable necklace so that they might buy him food. Migrating Indians in North America used to have a feast for their infirm and to leave them behind the next day to die alone in the wilds.

Myself I have hardly ever worked, yet I consider myself extremely valuable for humanity - as I hope to prove one day when publicizing and getting recognition for a few of my many scientific discoveries.

And how about the useless domly dom, sitting on his throne and ordering his subs about?

In Christian cultures eugenics is practiced whenever a woman falls in love with someone to whom she is not married. Especially when she already is married, she will fall in love only with another man if in some respect he has - genetically transferable - qualities that are superior to those of any other man, including her husband.

Eugenics is the "applied science or the biosocial movement which advocates the use of practices aimed at improving the genetic composition of a population," usually referring to human populations.[2] Eugenics was widely popular in the early decades of the 20th century,[3] but in late 20th century it has fallen into disfavor after having become associated with Nazi Germany. Both the public and some elements of the scientific community have associated eugenics with Nazi abuses, such as enforced racial hygiene, human experimentation, and the extermination of "undesired" population groups. However, developments in genetic, genomic, and reproductive technologies at the end of the 20th century have raised many new questions and concerns about the meaning of eugenics and its ethical and moral status in the modern era, effectively creating a resurgence of interest in eugenics

The "interventions" advocated and practiced by eugenicists involved prominently the identification and classification of individuals and their families, including the poor, mentally ill, blind, deaf, developmentally disabled, promiscuous women, homosexuals and entire racial groups -- such as the Roma and Jews -- as "degenerate" or "unfit"; the segregation or institutionalisation of such individuals and groups, their sterilization, euthanasia, and in the extreme case of Nazi Germany, their mass extermination.[10]

Ya know... Im a pretty affable guy. I really do try to see the good in people, to try and understand where they are coming from. In that pursuit I remind myself to that I don't really know a person I've only heard about and maybe they are not as bad as people think...

But there are exceptions...

The potential for the gross abuse of authority, leading to atrocity, is one of the reasons I have such a huge anti-authortarian streak in me (except, of course, when I'm the authority ).

I do not officially advocate that this nazi fucktard be dragged into the street and pounded into a bloddy pulp... but I would shed no tears if it happened.

People without a conscience are without grace. Yet despite not having inherent ethics, they might have acquired ethics. Religions provide such acquired ethics to those without grace. But it is better to be born with inherent ethics.

However much I am unlike those without grace, and however much I abhor their evil deeds if they do occur, I nevertheless do recognize them as people.

That is their error, then. We have seen what happened to the European royal houses as a consequence of this breeding behavior in the nineteenth century: they all were afflicted by hemophilia, most notably the Russian Tjarist family - who were all, for apparent reason of eugenics, murdered.

What is overlooked here is that "eugenics" is practiced in everyday society on an ongoing basis.

Why some senile twit feels the need for the state to intrude upon what happens everyday as a normal course of events is beyond me.

How many women find attraction to a man that has a physical defect? Not many, though it does occur on rare occasion.

My three brothers who were born with significant hearing loss and a mild but just noticeable speech impediment, and later in life, retinitis pigmentosa (no peripheral vision) have none among them ever one girlfriend in their entire life, and never will.

Not gonna happen.

So then, let's hear all the righteous indignation about all that ...

OK, that's what I thought.

Neither they nor anyone else in the family took note of that aspect, actually, beyond the obvious exigencies (supplying three hearing aids by the parents is NOT cheap, but the rest of us were only stuck with having to stop in mid-argument on occasion, pausing for just a moment to hear what we thought we heard, before continuing to pound on each other). We were all too busy just treating each other as normal, the hearing loss idiot brother treated just the same as the idiot normal hearing sister or the idiot normal hearing brother. (larger family, in case that hasn't been gleaned thus far).

So then, let's line up all those women who turned elsewise from my congenitally afflicted brothers and shoot them too, along with reprehensible, oops, I meant representative what's-his-name.

Based on comments thus far, I'm sure all you folks are up for this, right?
