You need to read the entire thread, carefully. Look for clues. Irony. Onion. Like that.

The United States. Daylight saving time, also called “summer time,” is the practice of advancing clocks forward by one hour in the spring to gain additional daylight during the early evening. In the fall, clocks are again turned back an hour. The U.S. federal law that established “daylight time” in this country does not require its observance. Arizona, Hawaii, and the territories of Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and American Samoa do not use DST. These areas receive so much sun throughout the year that gaining another hour of sunlight in the summertime is not seen as a benefit.

The challenge of political parody, that willbe failed at miserably, is to be funny while while making the author's political point. It is insufficient to be just mean spirited.

Funny is in the eye of the beholder. Since I captured you perfectly in it, Im not surprised you dont see it that way.

I'm not convinced mnot. It seems to me that Willbe put more thought into that bit of fluff - the OP - than any other post of his that I can recall.

However, I'm sad to report that his inventiveness and imagination isn't up to its usual level.

If that was aimed at me T^T, I was being (almost) completely sincere! :)

Willbe's post made me smile several times. I appreciate comedy is notoriously difficult to write - so good on him. And I much prefer this style to his usual bombastic rants devoid of intelligent thought.

It is true, IMHO, that he has moderated his creativeness with the truth somewhat. But that's just my opinion.

Where's slavemike, I want him to tell us why he thinks Oblunder is going to be re-elected again.
Right here Pops...and to answer your pointedly independent question please see any informed list of possible Republican challengers.

Arizona continues to defy US policy, and is joined by Hawaii in once again refusing to conform to Daylight Savings Time. From an interview with an anonymous but obviously credible White House source, the Obama administration is concerned about yet another act of defiance from the state, following its controversial and obviously racist immigration laws. President Obama was visibly angered by Hawaii’s decision, since it has been undeniably proven to be his home state and he takes it as a personal affront.

Eric Holder is expected to file a suit over the issue, believing that it violates the Commerce Clause of the Constitution by causing businesses in other states to maintain two different time standards, causing an expense upwards of $1.75 a year per business. President Obama was overheard as saying “If we don’t get these costs under control it could bankrupt the country. Its not a good time in the polls to introduce new regulatory laws, but this unconscionable continuation of an act of rebellion is a greater threat to the country than Al Qaeda.”

Meanwhile he has authorized a commission, headed by the First Lady, to study any causal links between evening sunlight and childhood obesity. A law expanding the definition of child abuse to the feeding of children during twilight hours will be the outcome of the study. Results of the commissions study will be published in AOL’s soon to be launched online peer reviewed scientific journal, HuffPo_Theories.com. Few details are available on the new site, other than the name and location of the Senior Editor, Ken from Obama’s home town of Chicago. “I am confident that the causal link will be found, and any evidence to the contrary will most certainly not find its way to our pages, since it is critical that we advance this important cause without interference”, Ken has said. It is rumored that the site’s cyber-security measures exceed those of even the Pentagon in hope of avoiding any theft of information such as those that have unfarily and irresponsibly dented the credibility of the East Anglia CRU.

Bravo! I looked for the link to the Onion, but after reading the thread I see that it was you!

Cute. Very cute.

He will be re-elected because he is keeping the real power...the bankers happy and because...unemployment is coming down. Never mind slaves had jobs but you get my drift.

Oh and BTW, the repubs just don't have anybody viable at all. They are all kooks, liars or hypocrites in some area.

MrR., have you considered that possibly that even statistically, out of a normal cross sectiobn of the populace, we could ever find a more inept group ?

We couldn't and we all know it and we know why it is the way it is. Money. We know we can't get it done at the ballot box. What is next ? Give me your real name and I will vote for you for President in 2012. Know what that means ? Nothing.

Eventually someone will have to stand up and make a judgement. Won't be me.

If anyone has lived in Arizona they know that after the sun goes down in the summer, the tempatures drop. So why would anyone there want an the sun to stay out that extra hour? Ariizona did go on DST in 1967 but only for one year. Then it was eliminated again

I just think dst is ridiculous and obsolete anyway... but that might have something to do with the fact that I have to be at work in 8... oh, wait, no... 7 hours... >.< Screw you DST...

Seriously though. We're no longer an agrarian society. We now have these things, even on the farms that are out there, called clocks... and electricity. And if those farms are Amish households, they're up at like 3 a.m. plowing the fields already anyway, so who gives a shit?

EDIT, to add: Yeah, I will admit, that's one thing I did love about AZ... no friggin idiotic DST. 2 a.m. was 2 a.m., not 1, not 3. Try working in the kitchen in a nursing home and explaining on DST day why breakfast was an hour ago, or won't be for another hour, to 100, 90 year olds who literally piss on a schedule. Let me know how much YOU like DST at that point.

I can't believe this is still going on. Let me settle it now.

I wore my green pants today. I will wash them because then they will be nice and clean for St. Pat's day, just in case any lucky Irishmen are giving out beer.

It is just so easy to solve all the world's problems I don't see why y'all just don't do it.
