Look it at this way sale, you do a search for nasty speckles all over your wee wee and come up with a thread about nasty purple spots all over your wee wee. Let's say the thread is three years old, but you happen to have nasty blue spots all over your wee wee, however years ago you had purple, know all about purple, know how to treat purple. Feel free to give your low down on the purple wee wee speckles and link to that thread, but since blue wee wee speckles are your issue you are not going to find your answers in the purple wee wee speckle thread start the "Blue Speckles on My WEE WEE" Thread.

Same thang, you may find the answer you are looking for in a n older thread, if it is ongoing, post on it. If it is dead, you learned what you wanted, leave it lay. However, if you find that "How to deal with a riding crop up your ass" just doesn't feel the same as the flogger up your ass, start a new thread.

Yet, just look at those examples you gave.  [8D]

A high majority of thread resurrections really don't add to the discussion value.  Folks either a) try to strike up conversations or make comments to posters who aren't here anymore (meaning they don't even know that person they are talking to is gone) or b) it's folks pulling up an old topic to throw up a line or two that doesn't hold enough new information as a contribution.  When either of those happen, a lot of folks have already said their piece on the thread, so they don't contribute again unless somebody starts a new thread with their new angle.

Every once in a really great while, folks will pull back up a thread that they started to give an actual update.  (The solved their problem, wanted to thank folks for the advice that led to that, etc.)  There have been some in Politics and Religion that a verdict came in on a court case that was discussed when it first hit the news.

However, just to pull up a fat thread from three years ago or an Introduction that's a year old?  That's kind of pointless and it seems to Me that it's just easier on the Mods to have the same policy across the board.

Yeah I like to stir the pot and I am a bit anti-authority, I do see the reasoning for it, but alot of posts can become quite creative with banter about hats, cats or unicorns. it just seems that stifling that when it gets to 3 months squelches creative expression a bit and someone who hasnt had acess to the site in 2 months and 27 days may indeed have some personal insite to blue speckled penis syndrome (which I had before but it was due to an art related accident)

Threads are not locked at the ripe old age of 3 months (hell, a few of the PRS threads have been going on for years).
If someone replies to a thread where the last post is older than 3 months, the thread will likely be locked for the reasons already stated.

As to the blue speckled penis, please stop trying to fuck smurfs. It just never works out [;)]

Greedy, I think that he actually has gold star shaped spots on said mighty pecker so the sparklies will make them look like shooting stars........
