I'm not what you would call overly sadistic, but lately have on occasion found my thoughts wandering towards those that are often known as pain sluts. Are those of you in that camp fond of all pain, or pain with a certain person inflicting it upon you? Just certain types of pain? Did you have these desires from an early age or were they developed as you went through life?

Level.... i'm one of those that likes to explore my acceptance of pain... and yes.. i think it depends on who's applying it. I have some types I love to no end.. and try to take higher.... then there's some.. I have low tolerance for... and can go only so far with...but it sure is fun to see how far I can go.... [;)]

What's the difference between "pain slut" and "masochist"? Also, is there such thing as BDS(ps)?

think you're going to get as many different answers as however many pain sluts post in response. It will be different for all subs/slaves.

Pain tolerance...for me stemmed from early childhood cirumstances....however as i began to really exoplore and open up sexually...mild pain ie....spankings tight bondage....was a springboard for the activities i now enjoy. I consider myself a bit of a pain slut....however...i have found that the level of devotion i hold for the Person inflicting it...greatly affects my level of endurance. If i'm involved in a pain scene with a Dom friend.....i find my tolerance level lower...than when the Person inflicting the pain is my Dominant/Owner.

It falls into two categories with me. I enjoy strong sensation, be it pleasurable or painful. Sometimes I'll get an itch to feel pain, any pain, and it's not unlike the the feeling of "needing" to masturbate. It's a physical urge, an itch that needs scratching, and can be dealt with quickly, easily and without much fuss or thought. Then there's the way it feels when it comes from Sir. That sort of pain is a thousand times better (in much the same way an orgasm with a partner is better for me than an orgasm that comes from masturbation), because it goes beyond physical and is tied up in mental and emotional as well. Then it becomes a test, challenging myself to see how much I can take for him, which is incredibly exciting even when the sensation itself isn't arousing. So far as I can remember, I've always had the undeveloped urges to experience stronger sensation. It hasn't been until the past year that I've learned how that can be refined into something more. Edited to add: I guess that means I'm not sure if I'm a pain slut or masochist so much as a sensation junkie.

yes in My book .,. My pet is a pain slut ... I have been told I am a pain slut ... W/we can turn pain into pleasure But I will admit he is not a Masochist ... thats a bit deeper ....most pain sluts I have met need building up ... Most Masochists I met Just Love the pain and don't need the work up of endorphins.. thats Just My interpetition of it ....sure there are more.... for instance to Me pain slut -=loves a cane when worked up right masochist= medical staples his ball sack to a board and loves it now ,.. I'm a Sadist that loves to watch both LOL .....and if I whip Myself by accident I would just purrrr LOL

well I am not what you call a pain slut... but I am rather sadistically motivated in my play. first what do you consider "Pain".... many have narrow definition of pain and consider it only to reflect physical. I myself consider pain to have an emotional and intellectual component as well. It has been my experience of the variety of individuals I have played with and those that I continue to play with that pain perferences are widely varied. One must also consider what is the gratification from pain. Is it actually crossed wires that painful actions bring a sense of sexual pleasure or is it the mental pleasure of being able to endure and conquer this pain. It has been my experinece that it is both and many other reasons as well. It has also been my experience that a pain slut may endure alot of a particular type of pain and none of another. Some pain can result in immediate sexual arousal, while other pains is an immediate shut down. Some pain fires of the body chemicals and send them into a natural high. I played with many different indivduals in a SM context and observed and discussed with countless others. I have never discovered any universal truth amoung pain sluts. From the types of pain they enjoy to the motivations and pleasures they received from having the pain... they all are different is some manner or other. It is likely why I have have a great pleasure in playing with the few constant play partners that I have. They are widely different in many ways and similiar in some, but they are never the same. I dare say that from one play to another with a particular individual it is different and unigue in some manner or other. Each play is a discovery of the unknown. I love IT! I am passionate about my play!

i would consider myself on the mild end of "pain slut". For me, it's about the build up. It's about a balance of pain and pleasure that heightens the pain. This is something that has always been in my thoughts but only recently (in the past year) fully realized. Now, i am to the point where i miss physical pain if i don't have it. Also, it has a lot to do with the approach and could include all types of pain.There are certain favorite ones: a hard spanking, hot wax, nipple/clit torture. Oh how i miss it!

Seems to me i read someplace that a pain slut will do anything for the pain, even if what that pain slut regards as pain is only a level 3 sensation. i think i am kind of like that. i have low tolerance, but what i can endure, i sure the hell like! (as noted by MadamShy though, i definately need workup, bigtime!)

For myself, and myself ONLY; in answer to your questions: Yes, I am fond of ALL kinds of pain, but on that same side is the fact that yes, it also depends on who is administering the pain, and how they go about doing it. It took me along time to reconcile my liking of pain, with acceptance of myself. I was not born with it, I just gradually began to accept this facet of my personality.
