Im not going round in circles with you all day. My point is that if people freeze in the winter because the left wants to *use* the BP accident to further shut down our domestic energy production, if the economy crashes because of that, if the price of everything skyrockets due to increased transportation costs, and so on... its on the left come the election cycle.

And they will have to live with that.

I understand that, Sanity. My point is that if they were found lacking in the gulf, then they are lacking period. Better to err on the side of caution.

A hell of a lot of "ifs" in that last statement sane one....now let's just suppose none of that comes about....are you than prepared to eat crow(you should have enough gas to properly cook it of course)

He'll just do what he usually does - deny he ever said it, and hope that we all forgot how to use the "search" function since the last time we caught him lying.

Moonhead -> RE: Obama Met In Rio With Riots (3/20/2011 1:31:32 PM)

Yep. I'd suspect that it's a tactic that works at home for him ("I never said that and you'll feel the back of my hand if you keep lying!"), and the penny hasn't yet dropped that what he posts on an internet messageboard is still there and so harder to deny.

Sanity -> RE: Obama Met In Rio With Riots (3/20/2011 8:19:14 PM)

Lying, panda?

Your redefining my speculation about how higher energy prices might effect the economy, and therefore political outcomes, as a "lie"?

Thats some crazy spin, man.

Crazy!  [:D]

I suppose youre denying that the left has been working to stop or slow coal and oil production... most traditional energy production, in fact? Well I have some news for you my dear old panda man, the only "lie" in there would belong to you and yours, and the fact is a lot of what I described above is already beginning to occur.

I have been extremely, extremely consistent in my posting, despite your crazy, desperate spin and mad frothing lies about me, and yes the record is indeed there for all to see, and I am very proud of mine.

If you are proud of yours it can only be because of whatever it is thats so deleteriously affecting your cognitive skills.

BP is a domestic oil industry?

It does employ a large percentage of Americans. Its also the biggest oil producer in the US, with its American HQ in Dallas.

As for campaign funds. BP has given approx $5 million in the last 20 years 72 % to republicans and 28% to Democrats.

tazzygirl -> RE: Obama Met In Rio With Riots (3/21/2011 6:28:25 PM)

And the main headquarters is in London.

Employees include all individuals who have a contract of employment with a BP group entity. In 2009 BP total headcount fell by 11,700, reflecting the transfer of our US convenience retail sites to a franchise model and the progress we have made in making BP a simpler, more effi cient organization

The total number of employees, according to their financial report in 2009 was 80,300. You may have meant that most of BP's employees are american.

While technically that might be accurate in political terminology a statement such as that is known as "spin":

Politico - Obama biggest recipient of BP cash

quote:

CBS - BP Spent Millions on Lobbying, Campaign Donations

During the 2008 campaign cycle, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, individuals and political action committees (PACs) associated with oil-giant BP contributed about $500,000 to federal candidates. About 40 percent went to Democrats.

The top recipient overall? President Obama, who got $71,000 from the company tied to the environmental disaster in the Gulf, according to the group.

I meant what I said. I never claimed BPs main office was in Dallas, only that the American headquarters are based there.
