What a cutie. What's even better a predator ! A natural born killer. I want an owl, is it still illegal to keep them ? If so I want one even more. In fact in the winter I have a bit of a mouse problem and I don't want a cat. Though I like cats, I just don't want one. Just think, no litterbox and I don't have to open the door to let it out to go, just open a window. He'll come back because I will of course find out his favorite food. Man this would be great, like a cat that can fly ! I'll have to see if I have any connections at the zoo. There used to be one coming to a tree down the street but I haven't heard him lately. There was a woodpecker also. I live pretty close to the zoo (go figure) and they used to come. Exotic birds here in the ghetto. But that's all gone with the wind, or something. T^T

I sent the original link to my Mom. We had a game when I was a child, and the OL made me think of it.. I sent the link to her saying "this made me immediately think of you!" her response was "I havent thought of that in YEARS!!" (makes me happy that I have a gift to send her.. two little owls, cast resin with HUGE eyes)

Mom kicks ass :) At Ren Faire here, thay have a raptor show.. I would like to see if they'll let me handle the owl while I am there. Or any other birds.. ..but especially the owl, for pics ..

yeah, the first year, I was told no, because I was too buzzed (ok, 6 meads, 4 ales witll do that). Havent asked again since then. I think I will this year....

We have many owls around our place. Love the Great Horned Owls......the cat does not, he is terrified of them. I am less fond of the Screech Owls. They like to sit in the oak tree outside my bedroom window and wake me up at the most ungodly hours.

In Austin, there is a flock of parrots that ran away from their owners. It does get cold in Austin so I wonder how these birds deals with the weather.
