Reminds me of taking a couple of days break in a cross country trip at the
Terry Bison Ranch. You go north on the interstate out of Denver and get off on the last exit before Wyoming.

When we're in Montana we live not far from the National Bison Range.  A yearly trip to see these magnificent animals is a must.  You don't realize how huge they are until you are right next to them.

Agree. Seeing them in Yellowstone still rates as one the best things about visiting the US. That and seeing a bear playing in the snow. Oh and...... never mind there are way too many things to mention.

Right next to them!?!?!? That ain't happening anytime soon! I have a healthy respect for how big they are at a distance...a BIG distance.

When I was a teenager my mother used to buy some of our meat from a local farm, and the guy had some bison.  I was privileged to be able to stand just inches from a great big bull...with a 10K volt fence between us.  I can't imagine meeting one of them without something separating us.
