So, it seems we are going to have yet another election. My first gut impression is that it will return another Conservative minority, but that this time the Liberals and NDP will go for a coallition. This will have the odd effect of putting the Bloc in the position of effectively having a veto. I don't foresee good things from that situation.

What do the other Canucks (and Americans who care) think?

Wooo-hooo, another Canadian!

I'm not so sure. The coalition will most likely be beholden to the Bloc...and who knows what they might demand as payment. Do you really want the damn constitutional debate reopened? Another Meech Lake fiasco? I hope the coalition gets enough seats that they don't need the BQ's votes, but I don't foresee it.

Ah, it does an old pinko's heart good to see the younger folk walking the straight and narrow.

Actually, that's not really a bad idea. The stronger the NDP's position, the less the Grits will need to rely on the BQ for support,

Well I definitely will not be voting harper in, scummy smug asshole, I hope his testicles turn square and fester at the edges.
altho as usual , I dislike them alll intensely, theonly one I liked was Gerrard Kennedy and thats cos he was a genuinely nice guy, working with the food banks while I was working with the street kids, he was one hell of a go to resourceful, helpful, intensely popular chap.
Of course, politics is ugly.
changes people and not for the better

That has got to be one of the most original... and unusual... put downs I have ever seen.

As for the topic at hand, I have enough trouble trying to figure out American politics to pay too much attention to other nation's politics. Just keep brewing good beer and putting on good plays and I'll be happy.

There is a reason that all the good ones came from Quebec. I think it is time for you to return.....

Harper is saying about Michael Ignatief in commercials ‘He didn’t back for you’ but the truth is Ignatief came back to save Canada from Harper who is George Bush light. If Harper gets a majority government he’s going to try to do the same crap in Canada like Scott Walker in Wisconsin.

To answer your question I think being prime minister is going to his head and he's on some kind of a power trip. Maybe he thinks he won't get enough credit for his 'contribution" to Canada in the history books.
