It amazes me how some people can join CM and within an hour have over 200 responses. This can only happen if users have bots that send out a standard email to all new members. SO... if you get an email and it does not specifically address what you wrote in your profile, its safe to say you got that email from a bot, just like every other new member.

No, it happens because you're new meat.

after a bit of time, teh emails will drop substantially, especially for men.

Welcome to the site, OP.

I got a lot of mail when I first joined, and most of it was from real people.

Although some of my best friends are bots.

It could be a bot.

But then again it could be an idiot.
Or someone with poor social skills.
Or a horndog.
Or someone who struggles to read.
Or someone who doesn't care about what you say.
Or....*fill in the blank*

I'm afraid I missed out on that by not doing anything with my account for like half a year after creating it...Plus, at the time I was in Prague where CM is not exactly brimming with people. I would have so liked to be inundated with horny submissives, too [:(]

i'm on page 7 and have no idea how many there are on a page, i dread to think what it's like for everyone else! out of those there are only a couple that have looked like cut and paste and a couple with the warning that that particular mail has triggered the spam thingy. i quite clearly say i'm only here for the forums but that hasn't stopped people trying. mostly though they are just compliments and i'm exceptionally flattered. so far i've not had anyone be funny with me when i said thanks but, truely, no thanks.

it's quite easy to tell those who have looked at your profile and those who haven't. if you are here looking just reply to those that are personal to you that you like the look of. the rest are easy to delete and ignore.

The system shows every person who creates an account as a 'new member' for sixty days.  This sets up the situation for an avalanche of mail.  It isn't just bots.  There are literally some folks on the site who contact new people just because they are new.  It's the 'fresh meat' effect.  The other part is, a new member isn't as familiar with the rules of the site, might not report such things as dick pics, cut and paste, or spam emails. 

When the sixty days is over, it will slow down.  Hang in there.

thing is, it's not just this site. all the sites i've been on have been the same.

i think the new meat thing is very relevent as some may have been turned down by everyone else already [sm=stickineye.gif]
