Well, it is likely going to the WiSC, and absolutely going to SCOTUS, unless the Feds end up overshadowing this summarily and double quick in which case it goes to SCOTUS and WiSC gets a pass.

Now I wonder, to avoid jail (which is what I would do for all the republicans including the governor, but I have no sense of fair play) how much is it going to cost the fine cheeseheads in WI to have the unwinding of the stuff done that is already done?

Seems to me the only way will be to double or triple collect the dues on the first paycheck, depending on how long it takes to turn the boat around in compliance with the judges orders, so in the main, they are effectively giving with one hand and taking with another (unintended consequences of not having a clue about government and law, these fine young turks) and effectively taxing their constituency, since many have spent that money, and their paychecks are going to be alot smaller at payback, and your typical neocon or liberal is gonna take a look at their paycheck and not think in any advanced terms of the situation, but do a very angry WTF?

Not a landslide votegetting proposition when I was immersed in realpolitik.

SCOTUS is going to rule on the Wisconsin open meetings law?
You do realize that's the only issue in contention?
Not whether the law is unconstitutional, but whether an "i" was left undotted in the manner of its passage?

It would surely be cast as a 14th amendment due process clause violation.

And there are like three current suits, this one is just getting more action and press.

Learn very basic law, at least,  before you argue it, please.

There are more than three. The three are those brought by politicians in Wisconsin. Unions have brought their own, and I do believe a couple of individuals have started one.

I should have said 'at least' instead of 'like', but the trouble is, I am not following this very closely, it was cast in stone on the day it became public knowledge that these fucking idiots were actually gonna try to do this....my apologies, I feel like such a libtard socialist, tazzy...especially since I said at the outset that the state would be rife with lawsuits, and going federal.

I am going to turn in my bomb throwing anarchist card now, since wisconsin said I don't have to pay dues on it.

LOLOLOL. (but really, I don't do apologies well so much, never felt the need for it being mostly right all the time)

LOL I never expected an appology.... i get them probably less than you give them, Master Ron.

Seems like Ohio is next. They are voting on their own collective bargaining reduction law today.

An Ohio bill that would limit collective bargaining rights for 350,000 public workers was poised for a vote before the Republican-controlled House on Wednesday, one of its final hurdles before the measure goes to the governor.

......

Contentious debates over restricting collective bargaining have popped up in statehouses across the country, most notably in Wisconsin, where the governor signed into law this month a bill eliminating most of state workers' collective bargaining rights. That measure exempts police officers and firefighters; Ohio's does not.

The Ohio bill would apply to public workers across the state, such as police officers, firefighters, teachers and state employees. They could negotiate wages and certain work conditions but not health care, sick time or pension benefits. The bill would do away with automatic pay raises and would base future wage increases on merit. Workers would also be banned from striking.

http://www.wdtn.com/dpp/news/ohio-house-to-vote-on-collective-bargaining-limits

It appears to be ready to pass. But, why would any state piss off the police and fire fighters?

Because police and fire (moreso) is mostly a state deal, and both interfere with all their rules restricting big business.

Does Ohio have right to strike for public employees?

Perps are gonna have to take a sick day, the state will balance the budget, and the lawsuits will get it back in serious fuckin debt.

Its like the red states are running CIA operations out there, everybody at the party in the living room is gonna be dead, except the intended target.

They subcontract the jobs out to private companies, at a guess. Of course, they'll likely wind up paying a lot more for less effective firefighters and rentacops, but that's the free market in action (and what made America great!), isn't it?

They do until this passes. But, making it illegal to protest wont stop them. What are they going to do, arrest all the cops?

Still, they can't nuke Winsconsin without the Fed either.
