It all started 8 months ago when we (everhope & I) were moving.  I had hired ‘rent-a-drunks’ to help with the move and they took 2 days to do what should have taken 6 hours.  I was so frustrated with them being unable to mentally sort out how to move the stackable washer and dryer, I walked up, stuck my arm in dryer door, swung it up and over my shoulder onto my back.  The base of it landed squarely on my coccyx.  Yes, I broke (fractured) my ass.  With everhope’s work schedule and my broken ass, we never fully unpacked every single box.  We have all the essentials and then some but some books and nick knacks were left in boxes stacked in the garage.
8 months later, after a long and slow recovery, I finally have freedom of movement without pain.  So the past few days I have been digging through the boxes and putting some finishing touches on the house, which leads us to this moment of bliss.  In the bedroom, which now has my favorite instruments of torture properly mounted on the wall, I can enjoy a “Master’s nightcap” of tea and cookies while I catch up on my long overdue reading of the last book in the Market Place series.  It truly is bliss.

That nightcap and reading have always been a recipe for bliss in my world.  Do you have some similar ritual?

I sympathize.  I broke my ass in my early 20s when I fell badly off a very tall horse.

A small thing, but my bliss is this - when we get home for the night, I remove Alpha's shoes and socks, and get pets for it.  Then we curl up on the futon together and watch mindless TV for a while.

(ETA: I love/hate the book series.  It's very entertaining, and pretty realistic in comparison to some bdsm fantasy (Anne Rice, I"m glaring at you) but the realism is double edged.  I've had too many newbs ask me how they can find the real, true marketplace people so they can be "real" slaves.  Yes, really.)

I know what you mean.  The "screen play" so to speak, I mean the character interactions and protocols are rather believable.  And, there are gangs that (kidnap and) sell people - as slaves.   It's just that they don't have volunteers audition for it and when they do kidnap someone, they don't put them through all the pretty training described in the books.

Speaking of horses, my family used own a few.  Horseback riding can be very physical.  A low branch give my sister stitches on her forehead and I had a trotter w/o a bit in go wild while I was on it.  Sorry to hear you broke your ass.  Glad you came away with all your parts intact though.

Glad you are feeling better.  As an aside, I found the one book in the Marketplace series that I read (forced myself to read a third of it actually before I gave up in futility) to be a huge pain in the ass - just not like yours.

Ass breaking hurts like a mofo. I've done it 4 times in my life.

My recipe for bliss is too complicated to illustrate.

At the end of the night about an hour before i go to sleep i love a warm shower then a cup of tea, herbal of course, something minty with some honey - and complete silence. No TV, no phone calls, maybe some texting or reading but no noise. Add a low rumbly thunderstorm and its even better.
If there was a man of the house maybe he'd let me lay my head in his lap and that would be even more bliss!

Cast my vote with the tea, cookies and something good to read. I prefer Pepperidge Farm Chessmen tho (And of course the Man is in the equation too)

I'm still trying to reel in the torrent of images that were unleashed by that comment.   I mean, as articulate as you are, if what gives you bliss is that complex, it's gotta' involve midgets, nuns, livestock and an engineering diagram to line it all up properly! . . . well, ok . . . maybe that's my fantasy of what your blissful fantasy would be.  My bad.

when I'm with Master, curling up right beside him in his arms until we fall asleep.

When not together, talking to him on the phone, turning on some soothing instrumental music or gentle rain sound from my computer and 10-15 minutes of meditation.

Animal crackers don't count as cookies. A couple of warm chocolate chips are much better.
