Anyone see a just wee bit of a problem with the american JUST-US system?

They have prescription chairs in the house of lords, that is about the only difference between the house of lords and 'the other place'. The lords don't often hold up legislation because they realise most legislation can be put through with the parliamentary act so it's a bit of a pointless trying to block legislation. Their role is mostly about advising on implementation nothing much beyond that.

Actually a small amount of arsenic daily was used not so much to avoid poisoning, but to improve the complexion. It makes it paler and whiter and since many of these people had some smallpox scarring, any available help for the skin was grabbed at.

Wig became fashionable in the time of Charles II white wigs became fashionable first in France then in the rest of Europe. Arsenic was used as wig powder and in make up but I have never heard of it being swallowed. It certainly wasnt the reason for wearing white wigs though. Edited to fix quotes.

nope when I was in high school before they abolished civics understanding governments and replaced it with "social" mob studies it was in my civics book. Now that was 40 years ago and I apologize I dont remember the name of the book. If you take small amounts of arsenic over time you become tolerant to it as I said. You cant find John (the songbird) McSaime's singing record anymore either lol.
