When was the last time you had a BLT? One made with thick crunchy bacon, crisp lettece, and juicy tomato's with mayo on your choice of toasted bread. It's full filling and crunchy yet water melting in your mouth. How long has it been since you felt that warm and moist feeling in your mouth from something so delicious? Are you long over due for a BLT or just find yourself craving one again?

Fangs,

I.

Hate.

You.

Now I want a BLT.  You suck.

Actually, I eat a LOT of sammiches, sometimes close to BLTs, sometimes different, but rarely the same thing twice.

I always have cheese, bacon, a few kinds of lunch meats, mayo, mustard, honey mustard, pickles, lettuce, tomatos, and the like at home, so I can be pretty creative...

But now I'm hungry.  So screw you.

Yours,

benji

Every summer when my parents start their garden, and I see those tomato plants go in the ground, my mouth starts watering for that BLT!  I have to have fresh tomatoes on that sandwich.

I have a confession.  I've never had a BLT.  I'm not really sure why.  I don't eat meat now, but I have in the past, so I can't fully place the blame there.  If I ever go back to eating meat, I'll have to try one.

I dont like my bacon crunchy aka burnt, and when I see tomatoes my first thing I want to make is my sauce [in which I also add some bacon]

That said, BLTs are an enigma for me, they taste and feel like a light sandwich yet can be classified as heavy [I need alot of meat].

Gosh, it's been years since i have had a BLT.  The only difference in how i make it is, i use turkey bacon and mustard instead of mayo.  I hate mayo.

Happy Monday y'all!!

No, they taste the best when my dad makes them for you, trust me. He isn't shy on the bacon, or the mayo, and he still dips the bread in the bacon fat, even though my mom gives him her most terrifying Domme Look. (By the way, the Domme Look, far surpasses the Teacher Look in sheer knee-shake factor...it's a known fact!)

Dang, it's 2 weeks till my next visit home. I wonder if I can last till then. I'm going to call him tonight and put an order in, just to be sure mom buys lots of bacon before I get there.

Your evil!! I'm a strict low carb diet and bread is a NO NO!! I could have the rest of it though, but I hate tomatoes on mine.

Let me second that turkey bacon is actually pretty damn good. But on occasion, I still will grab a pack of center-cut real bacon (oh look I drooled on the keyboard ) and get after it.

Now mayo....... oh, how I love thee.... as for the BLT, I had one maybe two weeks ago.

Mmmm BLT's are a Sunday morning must for me.

But none of them taste as good as the double deckers Mom made.  She would go out in the garden and cut a just ripe beefheart tomato, warm from the sun...one slice would cover an entire piece of bread...oh and they have to be cut corner to corner not down the center of the bread.

Edited to add--Miracle Whip, no mayo!

So glad I don't have any bacon in the house and am too tired to go out and get some.  Otherwise, I'd probably make a BLT right now.  I do have the bread, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo, but it just wouldn't be the same.

The funny part is that I don't like bacon by itself, but love it on a BLT.
