I just love listening to atheists piss and moan because other people aren't being good christians.

Is there a particular reason why Christians are above being judged by non-believers?
Did someone say it this?

If so I'd like to hear it. Elsewhere in this thread we have a Christian, liks2plzlf, inviting us to judge Christians;

"Just because someone claims to be christian does not mean he is, anymore than someone who claims to he honest, should be trusted. You will know them by their fruits." post #10

Where does it say we should judge anyone? It says that just because someone claims to be christian, doesn't mean they are. Do you disagree with that?

My feeling is that its perfectly legitimate to compare a person's actions to their words and see how they stack up. When it comes to politicians, it would be irresponsible not to check them out for hypocrisy, don't you agree?
Yes, I do. And I hold that thought to anyone regardless of whether they consider themselves religious or not.

The exact implication in this is that atheist have no such right. So...

...you will love this too. There are millions who actually live the sin-free life of a believing Christian. Then there are all the rest (many more millions) who use it (their 'Christianity') for their own short term self interest and are in the minds of most are among...the most guilty (sinful)  hypocrites there are.

Wrong. They have the right. They can quote verses and rant to their hearts delight. I will think they are amusing and silly and move on. So what makes you think they have no such right?

Not sure why you think I would love that, unless you think it's great and assume everyone thinks along the same lines as you do. Personally I already knew there were hypocrites out there, but it's nice to see you realize it to.

Actually, I have had to have heavy background checks for security clearances, including one that went fifteen years back into every place I'd lived and every job I've held, to ensure that I could be trusted with secure information.  I;ve always been amazed that Senators, Congresspeople, and Presidents had no such vetting, are entrusted with incredibly sensitive info, and seem to lead lifestyles that would make them easily bribeable and blackmailable.

I'd love to see mandatory clearances for them  We'd have fewer adulterers elected...

Who knows, maybe politicians will have their own heaven... if you lie for the good of the people, you're in... if you lie for the good of yourself and your buddies... you're bbq

Yes I do. I'm afraid I am forced to disagree. Your account is incomplete. To me, post #10 asserts not all people who claim to be christians are in fact christians. The way to tell the difference (ie the basis on which to make a judgement about their christian-ness) is "by their fruits".

To me that's a clear invitation to discriminate (make judgements) between 'true' christians and others on the basis of their actions. The person who posted it, liks2plzlf, made this explicit when he offered the following clarification in post #18:
"By their fruits I was referring to their works. Do they only talk or do they walk the walk."

So yes to me it's an unambiguous invitation to judge and on what basis to make judgements. You are free to interpret it any way that pleases you.

Could be. Sometimes it is hard to interpret words on the internet. I wonder if the original poster will come back and clear things up.
