Hello,

I have been trying to connect up with other locals here in the Sacramento area. I am having the worst time figuring out what to write. I would like to hear what seems to work for other members.

Here is a sample of what I have written that is NOT working!!

"This is funny for me... this seems so cold and impersonal but I guess this is the only way I know how to meet someone with similar interests.
I read your profile and I would like to see if you are interested. If you are, I will write you about me and we can go from there."

Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Keep sex, the orientation and all that out of it, just speak to people as one would if they were meeting them in the street.

My game is see who breaks first and starts talking kink.

When I had an active profile, I knew within the first five words whether or not that person had any chance. You, I would have deleted probably before I even finished reading your email.
For me, the number one criteria an email had to pass was whether or not I could stand hearing the person speak the words they wrote. In other words, the email had to sound like how they talked in real life. And I'm not talking about netspeak.
You sound like a generic robot in my head.
Anyone who has gotten an email from Shore would know instantly what he sounded like and what his personality was without ever meeting him just from his choice of words.

It must be a hard thing to do. Out of the thousands of emails that I received here, his was the only one that ever struck me like that. Plus, he sent a smoking hot pic of himself too....

*cracks up* You're a hoot! :)

And i agree wholeheartedly. It only takes a second to determine if that person is on the chopping block.

More than a few of those messages read like someone's jamming a pencil in your cornea. Make it stop already.

i'm starting to think it is. And i find it affects your response and enjoyment of the conversation. Getting their attention is only half the battle, it's keeping it where most falter. i used to converse with someone that had an uncanny ability to leap from the page. i should have cloned him. He was hella hot too. That probably didn't hurt. [;)]

Namaste,

If you wouldn't walk up to a cute girl in a bar and say "Hey bitch, wanna suck my dick?" then don't do it here. Yes we know it's a sex/kink site, that doesn't mean we want to talk about it to someone we've never laid eyes on. Just as the cute girl in the bar has sex with her boyfriend doesn't mean she'll have it with every boy around.

You talk to people here in the exact same way you talk to them in real life. Have you ever started a conversation with someone by saying "Go ahead, ask me stuff"? Then don't do it here.
