In my opinion, this is real honest-to-goodness sanity.

Seeing how California doesnt want the wealthy we will just have to make room up here in Idaho for them.

I guess we will handle this next influx somehow.

That kind of bite (an extra 1%) shouldn't be a big pill to swallow.  The question is, will something that minor have an impact on the state's debt?

And I hate polls like that, that simply describe the act itself, and not the effects of it.  Will it solve the deficit?  Reduce it by how much?

Raising taxes, on anybody, should not be treated as an isolated act.  The real issue is the budget shortfall, and it will likely be met through a combination of increased taxes and user fees, and cutting of services.  I'd like to see a depiction of the shortfall, and several possibilities to solve it, rather than a single solution without mentioning the situation that makes it an option.

That's fine, they can do a Rush Limbaugh and leave the state, it's their prerogative.

Maybe you missed it but the article said,

quote:

But a 2010 study by the nonpartisan Public Policy Institute of California found that corporate "relocation" of businesses moving from California to another state, or vice versa, "accounts for a smaller share of job gains and losses in California than in most states."

Between 1992 and 2006, the institute found, just 1.7 percent of all job losses were the result of establishments leaving the state.
