ORIGINAL: Termyn8or That is actually nature's fooltrickery. That smell is not good for you or anything else. Well maybe plants, but people and all our junk is adversely affeted by it. Mainly the ozone. Ozone is O3, usually created from O2 with an electrical dischrge, or something else that disturbs the electrons. Though heavier than air, a belt of it rides up in guess where, the ozone "layer". Now they finally shut the fuck up abiout the ozone because they didn't know what the fuck they were talking about. There never was an ozone layer, it has always been a belt and it does it's job to filter out a bunch of UV from the sun. Several years a go a bunch of people who drink their coffee with forks and knives made a bunch of money scarig us about it. BIG HOLE ! Yeah my ass. due to it's mass and dispersion ibn the upper atmosphere it is plain to see to anyone who knows about celectial mechanics that it never was and never could be a "layer" and the gaping hole that was going to fall down on us had been there from the dawn of time. I hope that's not too much at one time, but the ozone thing was fucking hilarious, watching people fll for it as ROCKET SCIENTISTS don't even know fucking shit. And I laughed my ass off, and bought some R12. Oh yeah, they blamed R12 freon for the hole in the ozone "layer". As if it were invented a fucking milion years ago. I paid $300 for a thrity pound jug and got about twenty left. You have any idea what that is worth now ? More later. T^T Interesting what you say about O3 being 02 modified by an electrical discharge, because I have Ionisers in my house that I believe do a lot of good in that I sleep better, the air is cleaner, ( no particles of dust in shafts of sunlight anymore), the cat seems to want to sleep near the things whereas before out in the kitchen it slept and I haven't managed to kill my current plants yet, they have lasted the longest so far. There is even an ioniser plugged into my computer. The biggest ioniser I have is an unknown device that uses inductors to step up the voltage as opposed to the usual capacitor/ diode set up and it has a fan behind it pushing the air through the machine, the discharge point is a carbon fibre as opposed to the usual needle that eventually pits and rots down. The air in the house is very much like the air after a thunder storm, ionised and it is very nice to breath, refreshing all the time as if one cannot quite get a lung full at a time and want more, so they do encourage one to breath deep and sleep well. So yeah ionisers were popular a few years back, and even the Japs went mental over them with the SARS outbreak, but nowadays they seem to be scarce, so whats the score with those things, are they producing ozone and are they really of any use ?
