Cutting right to the chase, it WASN'T "Newsworthy" here, and in fact, I wager 99.99% of America was unaware it had even happened (I know that I wasn't) until reports of reactions TO the original act were broadsided. What got the actual attention was that agent-provocateurs for the hardcore islamists, who watch for anything at all to use to incite their sun-baked, goat-fucking, wife-beating throngs into action, found out about it, ballyhood it, and the RESULTANT REACTIONS THERETO were what got the real attention. Do WE, As americans, go mosque-burning when we see or hear of violence against their local christian populations, bible-burnings, or burnings of american flags? NOPE! Do we even do that when films of beheadings of american hostages are shown? Nope! Thei ignorant, unstable mass that fundie-muslims are will ALWAYS be provoked by something, so let's just let this go, and deal with REAL problems. William

Sorry Ashjor, altho you are right about the resolution 36/55 from 1981, the US were not held to that , they would not ratify it, so they are able to do so without any backlash from the international agreement. Many countries only take parts of the UN laws when it suits them or they want something

What is the cause was the use of this action by THEIR PEOPLE to incite hostile reactions. As has been stated elsewhere in this lengthy thread, if it wasn't this act, it would be something else, and there's ALWAYS something else as far as they're concerned, as we're the antithesis of what they claim to believe in. Do I have any great affection for the press? absolutely not, but this is a case of peoples unthinking reactions to something that has no real affect on their daily lives. Thus has always been, and will always be, the way of fundamentalist religion, no matter the flavor. Personally, If I were going to blame a group, I'd blame fundie muslim clerics. William

Anybody freedom stapes when it affect others, we all can agree on that, It’s like a person who like to listen to their music loud at 4:00 am & others trying to sleep, It’s the same idea, it’s not about who he is or what he thinks, hell I don’t care what he thinks, But when his Freedom of speech affects me & insult whatever I believe in. I cannot remain silent about that. When you put yourself in other man shoes & someone insults you or your lifestyle or whatever you believe in, you know, deep down you know. I am not a racist, but I cannot accept people (religions) imposing themselfs on our way of life, did you know that here in canada the muslums want us to take down anything that has to do with christmas?? do we tell our kids "sorry there is no more christmas because it offends the muslums"!! they come to live here and complain all the time about how we live and our anscestors have lived for generations, and want us to change all that and live the way they do, thier customs their laws.. whats next? stonning women in downtown Montreal??? if their way of life is so great in their countrys why in the fuck are they comming to live here...
