ORIGINAL: hlen5 You might be interested in "Kevin the Plumber (PandR: "WI Have and Have nots)". Helen (hlen just doesn't seem right to me to type), when you read the posts here in P&R, pay attention to the posting styles. There are a few who actually try to doscuss the issues. There are also a few who are either psychologically disturbed, or not intelligent enough to make a cogent argument. And there are more than a few who bring little to the discussions other than smugness, and attempts at clever repartee. IMO, it's the latter who make this forum the laughingstock of CM. Really, pay attention over time. I do most of my reading, and quite a bit of my posting, in a couple groups at FL. True, there seem to be some issues with CM, but I personally haven't encountered them. Even though one of the groups, run by an old buddy from B.com, is very obviously tilted to the Progressive viewpoint (as am I), the level of discourse is generally far better and more interesting than here. There is an excellent discussion of Natural Rights and The Declaration and Constitution there, for instance, that includes folks discussion Cicero, Plato, John Locke, and Rousseau. I really do think that those whose posts are primarily sniping, or making clever remarks, do so only so they can be self-satisfied and self-congratulatory. I rarely post a B.com anymore because the Politics forum has become nothing more than a sandbox where people just kick sand at each other. It seems to me that you wnat to learn, and discuss issues, so if you are interested in a couple of the groups I mentioned, PM me.
