housesub4you -> What happened to "JOBS" being the big issue (4/4/2011 8:08:13 AM)

Remember during the election when all the GOP talked about was JOB CREATION, it seems very hard to find any elected GOP official willing to talk about job creation these days.  Here is a list of the few things they think have to be taking care of first

In Wisconsin, for example, as soon as the 2010 election votes were counted, Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald announced that the first bill he would introduce was one requiring voters to show photo IDs when they go the polls. The legislation does nothing to help the deficit, but actually increases it, because in order to be constitutional it has to provide free IDs to the tens of thousands of Wisconsin citizens who don’t have drivers’ licenses.

Then, of course, came the bills dealing with abortions, concealed carry of weapons, Arizona-like anti-immigration proposals, a repeal of last session’s law that extends benefits to gay state employees and their domestic partners — for starters.

In Georgia, a legislator wants to change the legal term for victims of rape, stalking and domestic violence to “accuser.” Victims of other crimes, like burglary, would still be called “victims.”

In Maryland, the GOP wants to end all county money for a low-income kids’ preschool program. The reason? Women should really be home with the kids, not working when they’re that young.

In South Dakota, there’s a Republican proposal to make it legal to murder a doctor who provides abortion care.
Meanwhile in Congress, a bill has been introduced that essentially would let hospitals allow a woman to die rather than perform an abortion necessary to save her life.
The House, of course, has already voted to withdraw any federal funds to Planned Parenthood, even though it’s the last resort for cancer screening and STD treatment for women who can’t afford health care.
So where are all the JOB BILLS the GOP_ ran on??????

This and related bills in other states are the only jobs related bills I can find introduced by republicans this year:

Obama and the Democratic majority House and Senate had TWO YEARS to grow jobs...what happened to that? The Republican majority house has had only TWO MONTHS to grow jobs...patience JACKASS, paitence.

Actually, during the first two years of the Obama administration, unemployment FELL steadily. Of course conservatives are loath to admit it.

Now with Republicans in the house, they are more concerned with helping big business rather than creating jobs. TYPICAL.

housesub4you -> RE: What happened to "JOBS" being the big issue (4/4/2011 1:24:03 PM)

Now now, you know we can't use facts when discussing the GOP, only thoughts produced and paid for by the Koch Brothers and Fox news are can be used

servantforuse -> RE: What happened to "JOBS" being the big issue (4/4/2011 1:31:45 PM)

Obama will have plenty of time to explain the still high unemployment numbers in his re election bid. If the numbers don't go down by then, he is in big trouble.

Lucylastic -> RE: What happened to "JOBS" being the big issue (4/4/2011 1:36:19 PM)

why would he need to explain it, isnt it obvious?
more than 7 million jobs were lost in the recession,
your businesses are still sending jobs over seas,
why arent you asking them ?

jlf1961 -> RE: What happened to "JOBS" being the big issue (4/4/2011 1:39:18 PM)

Funny thing is that it is the Big Business supporters of the Republicans who are sending jobs overseas.

Now of course, they will blame the democrats for the high cost of labor, you know, minimum wage laws.

housesub4you -> RE: What happened to "JOBS" being the big issue (4/4/2011 1:44:15 PM)

If Obama is soooooo  bad for business, then please explain why there has never been corporate profits as high as they have been since he has been elected????

Or do you think we where better off losing 700,000 per month in Bush's last year.

Gee, unemployment down, profits up and all the GOP can say is Obama is not good for this country

Lucylastic -> RE: What happened to "JOBS" being the big issue (4/4/2011 1:44:54 PM)

of course the greedy working man who just wants to live with a home and food, how fucking dare he want a reasonable living for working a shitty job, bloody scum

Yeah, like G.E.?
It's both the Dems and Repubs who've done that!
Obama went to Harvard and he can't see that?
And he wants "more free trade?"
We need to start manufacturing things in this country again!
This "service economy" doesn't work.

housesub4you -> RE: What happened to "JOBS" being the big issue (4/4/2011 1:53:47 PM)

Not to get off topic, but what would have been the GOP talking point if anyone said something like this about Bush when he was in office

Hell they where calling people terrorist supporters if they did not back him without question

Sharron Angle Labels President Obama A Domestic Enemy

McDonald's is hiring 50,000 in anticipation of making many stores go 24/7. It brings their worldwide total of employees up to 700,000. One fast food joint has 3/4 of a million people working for it.

Oh joy.

housesub4you -> RE: What happened to "JOBS" being the big issue (4/4/2011 3:05:07 PM)

Almost as many as Microsoft, Google and Apple has working for them in China
