If you want something to roll your eyes at try reading the link.

Here, let me help:

In a filing on executive pay, Transocean said, "Notwithstanding the tragic loss of life in the Gulf of Mexico, we achieved an exemplary statistical safety record." Based on the total rate of incidents and their severity, "we recorded the best year in safety performance in our company's history."

A spokesman for Transocean said, "The statements of fact in the proxy speak for themselves, but they do not and can not adequately convey the extent to which everyone at Transocean is keeping the families of the men who lost their lives at Macondo in their thoughts and prayers as we approach the first anniversary of the incident." Nine of the 11 dead worked for Transocean.

you could have also included this:

Also on Friday, Transocean remained at odds with federal regulators seeking to compel its employees to testify next week at a hearing into the causes of the oil spill.

Ahhhh...yes, let's do everything we can to make sure the truth never comes out.  Like use every court trick to make sure no one has to testify for years and then have them claim "I don't recall"  Seems this has played out before

rulemylife -> RE: Talk about Spin "best year in safety performance" (4/4/2011 3:06:02 PM)

But they provide jobs, and they are apparently very safety conscious.

Except for the few exceptions where their workers get killed.

But I guess their corporate mission statement is "shit happens".

hlen5 -> RE: Talk about Spin "best year in safety performance" (4/4/2011 3:48:06 PM)

Other than that, Mrs Lincoln, how did you like the play?

Louve00 -> RE: Talk about Spin "best year in safety performance" (4/4/2011 3:56:11 PM)

I read that on facebook last week.  It didn't surprise me.  Apparently they have been practicing either more dangerously in past years or they don't know what "safety" means. (which also wouldn't suprise me!)

As some have said on this board before "you just can't make this shit up" [8|]

Okay, worst oil spill in US history, 11 men dead, and that is outstanding safety performance?

Sounds like something some PR firm hired by Newt Gingrich came up with that one.

Incredible that anyone could put a line like that in an official report.  Sad sad sad.

Ever notice how our conservative corporate supporters tend to ignore threads like this?

My apologizes then, I mistakenly assumed the eyeroll was in support of their bonuses.

They have to wait until Rush and Glenn come on the air tomorrow to tell them what to think.

Ever notice that no matter what the topic is, someone has to come along and drag the left vs right bull shit into the thread.

Notwithstanding the tragic loss of life at the Lakehurst Naval Air Station, Hydrogen filled dirigibles have an exemplary statistical safety record.

Notwithstanding the tragic loss of (canine) life at Tacoma Narrows, suspension bridges built in 1940 have an exemplary statistical safety record.
