LOL- Interesting you should say that. I take a Bellydance class and our correct bellydance posture includes shoulders back and a slight lifting of the rib cage to elongate the torso and present the breasts. My instructor refers to it as "eyes open".

*giggling* sounds appropriate, but when I took bellydancing we called it "shoulder lifts"(the same move you are speaking of) But it is an eye-opener *giggling*
(sorry everyone, didn't mean to digress)[:)]

And some who are quite beautiful on the outside are rather stunningly ugly on the inside.

I do believe, I was just insulted. [;)][;)]

LOL I hope men fall in love with more then looks or i need to find myself a blind man. *g*

Really though i think most people look more for personality and common ground rather then just a pretty face.

Don't put yourself down dear, I'm not blind and unless that is a photo of someone else then you are rather cute[:)]

Lasttime2 -> RE: Do Men fall in love through the eyes first? (5/8/2006 1:29:10 PM)

I would look into your eyes first. They are the gateway to your heart.

kisshou -> RE: Do Men fall in love through the eyes first? (5/8/2006 1:56:13 PM)

I have never heard that expression before. The one I learned was "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach".

That has proven true for me over time :)

akisha -> RE: Do Men fall in love through the eyes first? (5/8/2006 1:59:43 PM)

*smiles* thanks Raven

Yes that's me. my flaws are lower then the camera lens though *grins* hehe oh well I like me and that's what matters most.[&:]

The one I heard was "The way to a mans heart is under the fouth rib with a sharp knife"

I am sure you are not as flawed as you think you are. Mind you that holds true of about 90% of the women I know. Just wish they could see what I see, then they would realise they have far less to worry about than they think [:)]

[:)] Just wondering...the old saying, "Men fall in love through the eyes and women through the heart..." (Esp in D/s, where things are more visual and creative). Any takers?[8D]

I'm much more auditory than ever before. As I said in another post, some of us become less superficial as we become wiser. Ten years ago…  I was looking at whole different type of woman. [;)]

In part you are very right. It comes down to a simple fact of life, it's all about sex. The males of the species (sub)consciously respond to visual triggers that indicate the reproductive viability of a female. Youthful appearance, The firm roundness of specific body parts, the healthy stride as she walks.

However I disagree with "women thru the heart". While the female of the species is attracted to males with a tight ass indicating good thrusting potential, And youthful appearance as well. Overall the female is attracted to behavioral traits indicating a good provider, and safe to be with. The female requires more than visual triggers, but does require then none the less.

Love, or "heart", is really nothing more than a bio-chemical product of evolution. Causing a mated pair to want to stay together long enough to raise the next generation to were it is capable to feed itself with ever lessening dependancy on its' progenetors. Least of which the very act of being in love is quite addicting. Just as some lower mamals and birds show a behavior suggesting monogamy. Presumed to be a higher order brain function, or a concept of morality. Logically suggesting that a chemical addiction occures during mating. Most likely an enzime secreted in the semen and, or, vaginal fluids. Thus causing a mated pair to remain together for the purpose of upbringing the next generation.

Not necessarily. I fell in love with someone through their prose, without knowing what she looked like.

[:D] Now that...is truly falling in love. Appaulds you!

It's not to be recommended, though I found her attractive, it didn't work out for many reasons. LOL I still love her prose though but I fear she wastes her talent.

The mother of my second daughter I found stunning straight away. A mutual friend had arranged for her to meet me at Tokyo airport. I went through arrivals and was stopped in my tracks when I focused on this beautiful woman, I couldn't help but stare at her. When I realised she was the woman that my friend had arranged to meet me I became speachless and just gawped at her. She was a work of art. There was nothing sexual about it, she was too perfect in my eyes.

However, she said she wouldn't have looked twice at me if she hadn't been there to meet me and I certainly didn't fit her ideal man. She is a very sharp dresser and I had just recovered from a serious illness and was rather drawn at the time, my hair was long and untidy and I was wearing old jeans and a tee shirt.

bandit25 -> RE: Do Men fall in love through the eyes first? (5/8/2006 3:21:38 PM)

I think we all fall in love about the same way.  Yes, it starts with attraction, but it's the lasting qualities, personality, wit, humor, caring, etc., that keep our interest.

lilbitnella -> RE: Do Men fall in love through the eyes first? (5/8/2006 4:01:18 PM)

As we are  mammals, you are correct  I noted in an earlier post that I thought it was both males/females that fall for the same reasons in the beginning....[8|]

Rayne58 -> RE: Do Men fall in love through the eyes first? (5/8/2006 4:33:23 PM)

Master and I met on another message board. He says He was attracted to me even before He'd seen a pic of me. I knew what His face looked like but that's all. It was when we started getting romantically involved that I finally sent Him my picture.

It was several months later that we met face to face and He says the second He saw me coming down the ramp at the airport He was lost [;)] I saw a bearded guy a little taller than me with the kindest eyes and I was lost too [:D]

Two years plus later we're still together and it only gets better!

Have we been watching PBS again?  Or talk sex with Sue?

KnightofMists -> RE: Do Men fall in love through the eyes first? (5/8/2006 6:36:43 PM)

It is indeed the look I see in the eyes of my girls that has set me on fire!

Men tend to be more visual processors- you know, men look at porn while women read romance novels.

I don't read romance novels... LOL.. can't stand them. And I'm an inner visual type person. I like to look inside someone... see the brains... humor.... see that they are responsible for there own life.

I do fall in lust a few times a day..[;)] but love.. I tried that again awhile back... think I'll wait again for that... [&:]

TemptingNviceSub -> RE: Do Men fall in love through the eyes first? (5/8/2006 6:50:31 PM)

Yes I do believe that men initially look through the eyes at first..and luckily all women are beautiful to one man or another, they all have differing definitions on what they consider attractive..however to keep the man then it comes down to more than the physical it comes down to what is also important to them wether it be intelligience, humor, gentleness, fiestiness or whatever and there you go again..differing needs for differing men...Women...well I think it is the same thing, but maybe we rather more quickly bypass the looks and see what is underneath,to what it is that is important to us, which is why I think we women give it a go a couple of times before saying yay or nay.Men usually make up their minds within the first few minutes to an hour......be well..Tempting

cuddleheart50 -> RE: Do Men fall in love through the eyes first? (5/8/2006 7:05:35 PM)

As I said before in another post....Attraction gets me there, personality keeps me there, and that is what is more important.
