90 Sq. Ft. $700/month

I've lived in some small apartments in my time, but this is ridiculous especially at $700/month. I don't care if it is NYC, I've seen bigger closets. Would you pay that much for something like this?

Hell no, I pay $618 on my mortgage for a 3 b/r 2 full bath condo that's on a golf course, 1,250 sq. ft, cent a/c, pool, plenty of parking and nice neighbors.

You are so right WyldHrt..although my place is not as small as the OP's query it is 950 square feet I think give or take a few feet.... I get lost in big houses...but like anything I think it is just familiarity factor and people in general get used to different  situations easily...I would hate to clean a house that big though (dusting and vacuuming are my nemesis!) I keep my place clutter free pretty much as I like to literally run around in it...ha ha

I live in a bachelor with wayyyyyyyyy too much stuff or I'd be happy.  But now I have to move.  I've found an area about 3 hrs away, closer to my dad, and with one bedroom apartments that will be cheaper than where I live now.  Which might free up some disposable income, cuz I sure don't have any now.  And all I ask for is a full kitchen, I can do without the huge bathroom.  I'll gladly trade one for the other.

I wouldn't mind the small space, but I would hate living in the city like that.

That place isn't much bigger or better equipped than a cage.

And your condo fees?

Well.. most cages are only about 12 sq feet so...

There was actually an apartment roughly the same size as this in the building we were in when we lived in North Pole, AK.

We helped our neighbor build a loft bed for it. It may have been a tad bigger.. maybe 100-120 sq feet, but he was paying around $400 a month for it. Our apartment in that building was probably around 300 square feet. We had a bedroom just barely big enough to fit our king size bed (and it was a pain to get it in there), a bathroom with just a shower and almost no storage space, and our living room and kitchen were undivided... It felt roomy sometimes.. at other times it felt very closed in.

Now we're in a 985 sq ft house with an attached garage and a giant back yard so... at the very least it isn't nearly as cluttered.

In NYC? I guess I could see it being worth it. My husband and I have had some very creative living situations since we've been married, so it isn't all that unusual I guess.

I don't think I'd want to live in that, but it would be awesome to rent it with two others and turn it into a sort of timeshare. I wouldn't mind it for a couple months to explore the town, then the next person could take their turn and so forth, but no way could I call that a home. More like a cheap hotel room.

And I thought the same thing, how could you have sex in that bed? It would be very constraining, I'm guessing they use the carpet.

Wyld Not necessarily true, Wyld.

Greedy's been in my house. It ain't small, but it ain't no McMansion either. I pretty much live in my den, which is 14.5' x 28'. I could live in a house that size if there were a kitche, a good-sized bathroom, some storage, and a greenhouse attached to it.

90 sq. ft. A California King mattress is 6'x7', or 42 sq. ft. That would leave 3' on two sides of the mattress,, or 18" on each side of the mattress were centered in the room.

My back porch is 16'x10'. I couldn't live on my back porch. Doesn't NYC have laws about living in closets? 90ft.sq. Amazing.

My brother's place outside of DC was about 6000 sq. ft. before he added on. His wife dies, and he was alone up until a few months ago. He told me he'd never have that big a place again. I can't keep mine clean, and it's a bit more than 1/3 of that. (Any service subs out there?)( or will trade cooking for cleaning and gardening)

My laundry room is larger than that. And has more storage.

I need space to move around. My house is about 1,500 sq feet for 2 people and 2 cats. It has a huge kitchen and 2 full baths. If I had to I could do with less, but shesh I so don't want to.

For one thing, where on earth would we put the books?

Ahhhh....the biggest drawback by far. At least for me.

Slowly but surely, though, I'm weeding through the stacks. I'm down to 5 bookshelves after taking 6 bagfuls to the thrift store.

Some things you just can't envision on a kindle.

I can so relate. My house is basically the library I live and cook and sleep in.

I did say most, Hippie.
As for the 90 sq ft, just no. That is below my 'required floor space' threshold... unless it is 4 stories high with full lofts on each level. Even then, getting down to the toidy from the attic level at 2AM might become an issue without a firehouse slide pole

OMG, when she climbs up into the bed, it reminds me so much of the episode of CSI where Stokes is buried alive in a casket....

Of course, if I had to live in such a place due to economics, I would. I have lived in an RV for a while which was ok cuz I lived alone, no big deal. If I was living with someone tho, I would want to build a much nicer and bigger nest...

I like space. I live on three and a half acres, surrounded by countryside. I don't need a mansion--I've lived in a 500 sq. ft. trailer, and the house I'm building is about 1000 sq. ft.--but I need the space.

When I lived/worked in New York, I stayed in a room with my friend's parents in New Jersey in exchange for chores/driving (his dad had just had brain surgery) and took the bus into Manhattan. Even if I rented an apartment in Roseland, much cheaper and roomier than trying to rent on the island.

Oh Hell No I couldn't live there. I would have NO ROOM. My exercise equipment would take the ENTIRE apartment and  I would be left trying to fit everything else ( including my sanity) in a space the size of a shoe box. I do not care if Its NYC, I am not paying $700.00 a month to have no room to live or shower. For christ sakes she doesnt even have a stove. Also, good luck having any sort of sex life in that bed. One could have missonary without a problem but as soon as someone wanted to kneel or stand it just wouldnt work. I'm 5 feet 10 and all the men I date are atleast 5 feet 9.  As soon as I wanted to ride him I would hit my head and suffer yet another concussion. No way. I will not pay money to live in a place that would limit my sex life that much.  I need room to spread out and chill in. My roomie and I pay 800.00 a month now for a 2 bedroom apt. We actually have a stove, a decent sized bathroom and we have room for our stuff. The 700 is  totally not worth it!
