ashjor911 -> a story & a message.. (4/6/2011 12:35:05 PM)

This is a story & a message of peace

I have to start this topic with a real story happened to a little boy called : ashjor911

Ashjor was born in KSA in 1984, his father was working there as a pharmacist.
They used to travel every year throu Jordan to another country.
When ashjor was a 7 years old, he was excited about this years travelling (this was at the time of desert storm, or near after it).
At the Saudi – Jordanian border, the luggage has to come out of the car & searched thru,
I used to run & play around them, one of the larg ones came down on my right leg just beneath the knee joint, it was broken in a second.
The medical center did not had any cast for my broken leg, & i was into so much pain that i passed out.
İ was rushed to an hospital by an officer in his car to ( al- zarqa`a city) the blue city, the hospital name was ( al- rahebat hospital) = the nuns hospital. 110 kilometer away from the border.
My family were still at the border, when the offecer take me out of his car, I woke up screaming in pain, he toke me to the ER & he sat down on a chair.
It was a busy there so i had to wait, the longer i waited the more the pain increases.
Crying, tears had to dig down into my cheek, i saw her.
An angel comming to me, she was med- late 20 years old, dressed all in white.
I remember her hair & head cover was white to, & a big silver cross hanging down from her neck, she approached me & asked me what is you name?
I told her my name is: ashjor,
she replied: ashjor are you scared?
I saied: yes,
she said: dont be.
I saied: why?
She said: because i am here.
& I believed her she went with me from room to room explaining to me what is going on,& why we are here, xray, examinations. Atfer the xray there was the big pain before they can pu my cast on a person must make sure that the bones are 100 % in the correct place,
She toke over & gently repositioning my bones, I was in pain, but she was gentel.
After the cast been on my leg, they have to make sure that my knee was not injured,i had to stay all night to the next morning, untill the prober doctor came & examine my knee,
& she never left my side, not one moment, she actually slept next to me,
It Was a Christian hospital so you have to pray with them regardless of your own religion,
I did that night, she helped me walk, & sat next to me & we prayed togther.
My family came but they can not stay with me after visiting hours.& the next morning I left.

Later that year, Me & my father were walking into the old city of Damascus, & i saw a Church & a Mosque next to each other, i asked my father about that.
He said: son, we are all brothers in humanity, & then I saw the most magnificent thing happened infront of my eyes,
The father came out of his Church, & the Muslime as well, they actually greeted each other peacefully,
WOW i said,
My father said: dont WOW anything, we are all brothers, & they did not see eachother all day long, worshiping God each one by his own way.
Each one have to make sure that his neighbor is fine & ok.
When they came out i saw that happen.

18 years later i did visit the hospital once more, for my kidney stone.
I did saw her(my Guardian Angel), sadly she can not remember me.

The Message:
Christian, Muslims and Jews, at the start we began all the same as human,
We may argue, we may be have different believes,
We may go to war, as allies or enemies but we cannot hate each other just because the way we worship God,
Each one can worship his/ her God in his way, peacefully.
& we all can say this word loud & clear
No to extremists.

PS: sorry if there is a mistake in my words, you all know that English is not my first language.
M

Best contribution in any section on these boards, for my purpose.

Thank you ashjor911 for relating such a meaningful story for us.

Even with the "message" at the end, the most powerful thing about this post was just the story itself. It seems to me that this is an important thing about a story or a prayer that many of us overlook or often forget; the power is in just the prayer or story itself, and the best ones leave a deeper felt awareness of some fundamental theme of mankind, one that transcends interpretation.

Thank you for contributing something that furthers my consciousness.

Well done Ashjor, perhaps it took you to put some sense into this stupidity we are all it seems embroiled in, for your father is quite correct, we all talk to our creator in our own ways.

But for all the disharmony that we hear about daily in the world, we never it seems hear about the harmony, the good and wholesome but then that does not make good news for those that tell us the news.

Could it be we are all being manipulated by those that seek to gain.

Awesome post Ashjor.

Thank you ashjor for sharing your beautiful story with us.

Western people are unaware of how the religions co-operate in your part of the world. All we ever get to hear about is war and trouble.

For those who'd like to learn more, there's a wonderful book on this theme by the distinguished UK author, William Dalrymple. The book details a kind of pilgrimage Dalrymple made through the Holy Lands checking out, among other things, monasteries, churches mosques etc where inter-faith co-operation is a tradition going back centuries.

It's a delightful fascinating read - even to a devout agnostic like me! Here's a link to the book:

Enjoy! And thanks again ashjor! [:D]

I seem to remember saying a few weeks ago that I like it when ashjor posts about the middle east because, unlike all our local (experts), he has LIVED THERE

Great post, Ash. Thank you for sharing your story.

I fear though, that too many people are convinced that their religion is the "special one."

We have a saying, here in my country, often found on t-shirts and stickers on the cars; Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

You seem like a smart and decent person, Ashjor911, though I think we would disagree on many things.

Be well.
