My cat is ramming around like it is a carnival.   Can she tell time?  Or maybe she does not care what time it is.

Mine always knows when I have 20 minutes till the alarm goes off. That is when he likes his breakfast.

Binx knows that Bo comes in from work, she knows she will be fed.

Little Bit (dog) knows  about 10 minutes before he walks in.

Binx hangs around me when I am down there.  If she could, she would try to sleep on my lap.

I worked in a facility where a stray cat adopted us. She knew that the evening shift people didn't like her. She would be in all day, sleeping & hanging out with us but about 10 minutes to 3, she would wake up from a sound sleep & ask to go outside. She knew what time those people were due & made sure that she was gone before they got there.

Yep, I think most animals can tell time once they get set into a rhythm.  My cats meet me at the door if I'm on time or later.  Deliyla, KB is the same as yours....he seems to know when I've reset my alarm to get up, and exactly 30 minutes BEFORE it goes off, he is kind enough to wake me up.  But even better, he's saved my ass when I've overslept many times.  And simce I always get to work early, what is "late" is still on time.  He knows when I'm supposed to head for work, and even better, when my days off are.

Watch cows on a diary farm....on any farm....they head into the barn when it's time to eat or get milked.  Horses do the same.

Wild animals who are fed by people also recognize time.  My parents had a pair of chipmunks they'd feed in the morning, and they'd show up and wait for their treats, and then disappear.  The sharks in the Bahamas get fed by/for tourists....they know when the boats will be there, and show up for food; it's been documented.

All animals have a concept of time, they do it to survive.  Migration, mating, birthing.....and they don't even need watches, clocks or GPS to do it!

When I started working day shift, Mr. Cat figured out what time I was getting up & started waking me every morning. I was able to stop setting my alarm, because he would wake me. However, on the weekend, I liked to sleep in. I explained the concept of "weekend" to him & he would only wake me Monday thru Friday. True story. But I'm not convinced he was a cat. I think he was a higher being in a cat suit.

ALL cats are higher beings......silly girl, you didn't know this?  Mine tell me this little factoid DAILY!  Usually while they are looking down their haughty little noses......uppity little stinkers that they are!
