Shit ,if your ears are "perking" I am already halfway there.Next step is that little blush on the back of the neck........
Michelson's penchant for high risk high reward play makes him eminently watchable.....it also just as often drops him from the leader board.
Or,as in one famous instance....costs him a Major, that a more reserved player would have easily salted away.

Hold up gym shoe. i'm not that easy. You'd need to tickle my funny bone rather well to garner that response. Can you say, Walter Genuin? [:D]

Phil aspires to be a showman, not Nicklaus.

Tiger ain't making much of a charge as far as I can see.

The Argentinian is your man. Done it at Augusta in the past, counts for a lot. 160/1 for him at a bookies in England before the tournament started.

Another good bet was Luke Donald to finish in the top five, which it looks like he will. 25/1 at the start of the tournament for him to finish top 5.

Not Only can I say it(Walter Genuin)I also am quite capable of finding their website and perusing their line.
These are rather pedestrian tasks,I would think raising the hairs on the nape of ones lovely neck a more sought after quality [:)]

My heart is going thump thump thump.  Tiger just made an eagle.  There are several who could win this one.  This is amazing...Master's golf at its best!!!!

Till I catch up to real time I will need to avoid this thread.....The suspense on Tigers Eagle has been trashed [:D]...I must protect the sanctity of the rest of the round [:D]

Without a doubt,no hesitation simply the finest Sunday at a Major that I have had the joy of watching. How many could have won it at some point in their own back nines. Are we talking double digit numbers or what?
And this kid Schwartzel, that does finally win it....he weighs less than the Domme that whipped me last night [:D].

peppermint -> RE: Tiger makes a charge.... (4/10/2011 8:12:43 PM)

My heart was racing as a watched the last holes of the Master.  Funny, but I was prepared to see Tiger, or Jason, or Rory win.  I was not prepared for Charl.

I do have to admit I'm exhausted just from watching.  I do commend the TV network for not showing Rory falling apart.  I do realize they had so many stacked up to maybe winning that they could not show Rory falling apart.  However, given a different time the Network might have used Rory as their "story" of the day.

I know not many are interested in watching golf.  I started watching when I was a kid.  That is when Palmer and Nicklaus were head and head tournament after tournament.  I was only a kid but found it all so exciting.  I never did play golf as a kid.  Oh, I hit balls around the yard.  Dad took me to the driving range.  However, he hated women golfers and I never got to play.  Fast forward 50 years.  I met Gary and now live with him full time.  He sees nothing wrong with women golfers, in fact he regularly played with one.  So, I took a couple lessons, bought  a set of cheap clubs and a bag.  I go out to play the par 3 course during the winter snowbird season.  I love it!!!  I also hate the fact that I am no longer as agile as I was when I was a kid.  I wonder how good a golfer I could have been except for the prejudice of my Dad.

Anyway...I love to watch others do something I'd love to do, but can not.  This is true for figure skating, snowboarding, and the many activities at the Olympics.  I can only watch and dream and imagine that those people doing fanatastic things are me.

Enough said.  I loved watching The Masters.  It was truely a test of skill today.  Congratulations to Charl.

Your Dad was,in this instance mistaken.....some of the nicest sights on golf courses I play are the oh so cute swings of the oh so cute golfer in her oh so short little white golf skirt.....but thats just me I guess.I think with most men it is a matter of pace, they feel if they are behind a group of woman they will spend all day waiting.I'm of the opinion that if patience is your issue.....golf just isn't the game for you [:D][:D]
The Masters was just epic...my only complaint( if I can call it that) was Exxon/Mobils sponsorship meant limited commercials...which meant 56 minutes out of every hour was actual coverage....I couldn't catch up,who could fast forward thru that nail biter?Every stroke from every golfer was important.Long story short that means it is only the 5th inning of the Yankee-Red Sox game....I hate being behind [:D]

peppermint -> RE: Tiger makes a charge.... (4/10/2011 10:16:53 PM)

I do not remember any golf tournament where so many could win the thing depending on how they played the last few holes.  For awhile I thought there might be a 4 or 5 person playoff.

We just got back home.  I had to go to the the local bar to be in a dark space, have a drink, and relax after watching the amazing turn of events this afternoon.

Now I guess I'll have to take more golf lessons.  I HAVE to get better.  Shooting a 95 on a par 3 course is not acceptable after what I just watched.  (taking a moment to brag)  Last time I golfed I finally got my first birdie!!!!  It was for a golf tournament put on bye the local RV park and that birdie was worth 5 bucks!!!  Okay, not the millions they gave away today, but I was happy...a real birdie...and I did it!!!

GreedyTop -> RE: Tiger makes a charge.... (4/10/2011 10:21:34 PM)

good for you, peppermint!!

I missed what happened to Rory... someone fill me in? Damned job.. I actually had to do some work so was away from the tv for most of it...

peppermint -> RE: Tiger makes a charge.... (4/10/2011 10:39:27 PM)

Rory had a really bad tee shot on the par 4 10th hole.  He then had an awful next shot.  He ended up with a triple bogie.  If he could have shaken if off he might have still won.  But he completely fell apart.  He bogied 11.  Double bogied 12 and then bogied 15.  Added to the two bogies he had ealier and a birdie, he was 8 over for his round.  I actually cried when this happen to him.  The network thankfully stopped showing him in their coverage.  I'm sure he probably couldn't hide what he was feeling.  Rory is an exciting young golfer.  I look forward to watching him many more years.

GreedyTop -> RE: Tiger makes a charge.... (4/10/2011 11:09:10 PM)

I caught a brief glimpse of him off the course..

Poor kid.. to have been going so strong and then..  *sigh*

I agree though. I suspect he will ultimately give Tigers records a real test...

*ETA*  I'm glad Jason ended so well.. it's always a joy to see the youngsters come out so strong!

kallisto -> RE: Tiger makes a charge.... (4/11/2011 3:50:54 AM)

Peppermint, I could have written exactly what you wrote. My dad was the same way. I've played around at golf and really do love it. Nicholas and Palmer have always been my favorites. As a kid growing up we were at the tournament every day. Now it's a scattered treat to be able to be there in person. However, this year, the best seat was in front of the tv. The young guys certainly showed their stuff this year. I look forward to seeing more of Rory. I think his young age may have played a part in not being able to pull out of the bad shots, but then again, older guys have fallen apart as well. It was an exciting finale to a great tournament. Charl definitely was at the top of his game.

DomImus -> RE: Tiger makes a charge.... (4/11/2011 5:52:18 AM)

Okay. I watched a little of The Masters. Golf just isn't the same for me without Jack and Arnie and Lee. Anyway, can someone tell me - why do the announcers talk in almost a whisper? Aren't they in some studio somewhere? They can't be looking over the shoulder of every golfer on every tee and every green at every hole? Who is going to hear them?

GreedyTop -> RE: Tiger makes a charge.... (4/11/2011 6:31:00 AM)

The announcers are actually AT the course, in booths at the greens.. havent you noticed the raised shelters?  Thats why there are so many different announcers.,.
