Get the time machine fired up.
OK, now if the south had won the civil war, it would be likely that we would be a divided country, like N and S Korea, VietNam, bunch of them out there. As such we would not have been in the position to influence WW2. Now if Germany had a bit better brain and took some wins and losses and dealt with the world court, she could've had control over a significant portion of Europe.
Everybody says Russia would've kicked their ass anyway and that might be true - MIGHT. That war was a real bitch for Russia, people do not understand, it was a fucked up time for everyone there even though the bullets did not fly over their heads, right now. It was not easy and wasn't sustainable for much longer, which was one factor weighed in the decision to drop the A bomb on Japan. They would not drop it on Germany because of the natural resources.
Now there is another possibility, that Hitler would NOT surrender. He could've regrouped, brought al his people in and unexpanded, maybe keeping the very close territories including quite a segment of population that would follow him, such as in Austria and Prussia, or a couple of other places. Their populace' would have gone along with it, they were only separated by lines on a map really.
So given this situation, with the Jews not breaking the enigma code (which it has been postulated that they invented) that no matter what happened, the Balfour Declaration would never have come about. This would leave the Jews in a worse diaspora than they were already in. And I have it from eyewitnesses of the time, even in public that FDR refused the Jews entry into the US. In the final analysis really, Hitler needed the bullets for better things. They WERE NOT CAPTIVE. In fact even the most bellyaching about the holocaust won't tell you that Jews were prevented from leaving. The FACT is nobody would take them. Perhaps they had a look at the ghettos in Poland.
Now had it happened differently, and the state of Israel had never happened, how would it be ? We would have what, Palestine ? Is that better ? Not really, but it would be better for us, because we would not have drawn the hate that we did from the Arab nations' peoples.; And believe me if they could elect a leader without intervention they would elect people who would bomb the US if they ran out of toilet paper.
How would it be ? Convince Yamamoto or whatever his name was to not "wake the sleeping giant". Even though the US had sanctions and all that shit fucking up their country, if they held out for a couple years they would've never given FDR the public support he needed to involve the US in a war in which we did not belong.
The fact is this folks, and get it through your head, there is no turning back. Our "leaders" of the past were also stupid. Perhaps not as stupid as what we draw now, but they were not all that smart, either that or they were traitors. Take your pick.
