Termyn8or -> RE: China scolds the U.S. (4/11/2011 7:47:06 AM)

"But China has shown no sign of bowing to foreign pressure"

That's called balls, something we used to have when we didn't literaly owe everyfuckingbody. This is one planet and I think "Americans" are going to have to get used to the idea that we are not God.

Sorry about their luck, motherfuckers. They SPENT our future. They FUCKED us up the ass with no lube and with a fucking sledge hammer.

I HOPE Arabs attack, I HOPE they destroy ther fucking whitehouse and pentagon so we can get rid of these fucking lying theiving child molesters with delusions of godhood.

Fuck them, and as much as I hate to go there, fuck their families too. Send those assholes to England or something, or better yet, a south American country controlled by ex-Nazis or their kinfolk. That'll fuckin learnum.

T^T

From the article

The United States is beset by... torture

So now you agree torture is wrong and must not be tolerated? Back when it was happening you were all for it.

I think popeye is becoming steadily confused due to his "moderate independent" stance.Were the sailor boy to actually choose a side,rather than maintaining his middle of the road,fair and balanced demeanor,things would clear up right nicely for him [:)]

Git-mo.

flcouple2009 -> RE: China scolds the U.S. (4/11/2011 12:05:36 PM)

No they do not have a point.

Do we put people in jail because they oppose Obama?

You need to elaborate.

Want me to spell it out for you? Fine. America's number 1 export; arrogant meddling.

If they don't agree with us and the things we do, we speak ill of them, taunt and ridicule them (France disagreeing with our post twin towers war posturing; freedom fries, a lot of racist banter and jokes, and political posturing that didn't make them change their minds. Good for you, France.)  in widely visible ways.

If they have a government we don't agree with, we want to "spread democracy", when the reality is our own government is so corrupt and crooked that the average American will never stand a chance at "the American dream".

While our own citizens go hungry, our debts go unpaid, and our social services continue to suffer rampant underfunding, (and worse, if the services are for women, the poor, or veterans.)... we continue to tax the poor, neglect the downtrodden, and then claim the moral high ground for sending care packages of grain to foreign countries. [Don't get me wrong, nice gesture and I'm glad we do it, but it's like whitewashing a tombstone. Doesn't change the rot beneath.]

While we're -still- holding prisoners without the -hope- of due process... prisoners whom we've tortured, abused, and denied basic human rights... we have the gall to tell other countries how they should treat people.

And I could continue to illustrate our hypocrisy, quite readily. So yeah, it's about time someone other than leftist blog writers came out and said it.

You want to take the moral high ground? Want to tell someone else they're wrong? Well, take the log from your own eye before pointing out the mote in your brother's.

In fact they do;

"The United States ignores its own severe human rights problems, ardently promoting its so-called 'human rights diplomacy', treating human rights as a political tool to vilify other countries and to advance its own strategic interests," said a passage from the Chinese report.

"the report dwelled on what it said were severe deprivations and threats facing many Americans, as well as Washington's invasion of Iraq.

"It also cited the United States' refusal to ratify a number of international human rights pacts, and listed poverty, hunger and homelessness as stains on the country's rights record."

(all emphases mine)

Of course this is only being done to fend off criticism of their own recent crackdown, nobody here is saying otherwise. But it stills serves as a reminder that given the actions of the US at least some bit of hypocrisy is inescapable when it points out 'human rights' concerns elsewhere.

No, so far as we know, no one is in jail for mere criticism of Obama. But likewise there are not over 100,000 dead Irqi civilians due to any decision or action by China either.

rulemylife -> RE: China scolds the U.S. (4/11/2011 12:52:50 PM)

Keep that new pic around for a while.  Best one yet.

stellauk -> RE: China scolds the U.S. (4/11/2011 12:54:25 PM)

I'll keep this very simple - pot kettle, kettle pot.

As far as we know?  No, we do know.

Unless you think we arrest our political dissidents.

The rest of your argument is not applicable.

I didn't and don't support our involvement in either Iraq or Libya.

But we are talking about a country repressing its own people, that is not comparable to the U.S..
