pahunkboy -> I will be an uncle again this month (4/12/2011 8:14:29 PM)

My sister is in her last month of term- and if it is not here by the 23rd- c-section. She has been throwing up.  Is that normal?   For the last month?

My nephews gal went in yesterday to induce labor-  no word yet.   Both babies will be boys.

At issue -  well-- I am hoping the kid has the same last name.... she is so quirky she might give the kid her last name- not his. Which would annoy the family. (sorry- but it would)

I have other nieces and nephews...  oh BTW_ both- these were or birth control that failed.

Your sister should call her doctor. Sounds like she's picked up a stomach bug.

And why should your nephew's gf give her son his last name when he hasn't bothered to give it to her? Or have they married?

Its not normal to throw up after the first trimester, though some women have been known to do so. If this is something that just came on, she should talk to her Dr. Then again, she should be seeing her OB Dr about once a week now. Without knowing her medical history, I cant say for sure. All I can tell you is to tell her to talk to her Dr.

Her main concern should be making sure she is hydrating enough. I threw up ever single day of my pregnancy with my daughter and never a single day when pregnant with my son. All pregnancies are different. Vomiting can also be an indication of imminent birth. I assume at this point, so late in her pregnancy, she is seeing her doctor once a week now? She should mention it to the doctor.

Congrats on the pending arrival, Uncle Hunky!

Good point.

I am just the uncle- so I pick up bits and pieces- and dont grill them.... I know the kid and his buddy are irked about something to do with the name.

Ok--  I am pretty sure she is frequently seeing DR.   Thanks.

Hydration.  Got it.  Thanks.

another who vomited every single day up until after delivery....oh, even a few weeks after delivery. I was constantly monitored by a doctor though to make sure everything was going well.

She should definitely be seeking the dr regularly. If she is then I would assume she knows what's going on and the dr is making sure she's healthy.

I hope they are all well.

I think you've been the boards favorite gay uncle for awhile.  [:)]

Start practicing denying use of the car key.  [:)]

Congratulations!

Early congrats for the newborns.

I vomited a day before I had Lizard.  I think it was from nerves.  I had a last shopping spree and the taxi driver (who I knew pretty well) went with me to the store and while I got diapers and such, he got shoes.

He got me home pretty fast to make sure I was not delivering in his cab...LOL!

I told Bo that Lizard will have his last name.  That way, the paperwork for court cases will be easier to deal with.  I was also the first of many highs in my bipolar episodes.

Congratulations on the upcoming event, Pa!

Like some of the other gals, I was nauseous the entire pregnancy while I was carrying My daughter.  It never ended.

Since you do only get bits and pieces, are you sure this is a new development?  You might have just got her on a bad day where she was giving more info than normal.  Toward the end of a pregnancy, some of us just get fed up with everything that goes with being, well......... Pregnant.  I even used to joke back then by saying, if I wasn't getting a baby out of this, I would never want to suffer through this crap.

ShaharThorne -> RE: I will be an uncle again this month (4/13/2011 2:29:29 AM)

Make sure there are a few cappies for the new one.  Babies are known for massive body cool downs.

Hello all.,

The nephews baby was born last night-  7 lbs 3 oz- c-section.   All are doing fine.

I am happy with the name they chose.    It is a tradition in the family to take a grandfathers name- for the middle name.   ..so the mom chose 2 middle names!   I love it!    It works for me.  :-)

-----

LP-  I am pretty sure it is a hard pregnancy on my sister... harder then the first 2 she had.

What these smart ladies said [:)] Seriously, if I would be in her situation and the partner would not care then why should I bother to give my child his last name??? Quite frankly, be realistic...whilst some people might not mind, surely many do mind when they are left to bring him/her up on their own and don't need the name of a father who isn't there as memory in his name.

My nephew (aged 2) got my brothers surname when he was born as my brother and sister in law decided to get married soon later, once they felt the time was right (they didn't want to do a quick wedding just because she was pregnant). Also as it would cost a fee which my brother was not willing to pay if they would change his sons name later which contributed to the decision to decide to get that straight from the start.

Apart from that Contratulations [:)]

I try to mind my own business.  So to vent and pick brains here-  helps that.  If I over step- it would anger more then just one relative.

Awesome that the baby and mommy are going great.

But...Grandma is pooped already, Hunky.
